What are the causes of leg pain in children?

You all know that children need a variety of nutrients in their growth process, so parents will let their children eat more vegetables, more fruits, and more vitamins when taking care of them. Calcium is also an indispensable substance for children's growth. Some children may even suffer from growing pains due to calcium deficiency. So what are the reasons for children's leg pain?

It is not ruled out that it is caused by excessive exercise during the day. Most children nowadays are lively and active. They play with their classmates at school during the day, and strenuous exercise is inevitable. Excessive exercise will cause children's legs to shut down and muscles to be sore. You can ask your child if it is caused by excessive exercise during the day. If so, try to let your child reduce the amount of exercise during the day, especially in the afternoon and before bedtime.

There are many reasons for leg pain caused by certain diseases, and the ignorant bird never hesitates to consider the worst-case scenario for the problems that may occur in children. If parents want to be on the safe side, they should take their children's leg pain to the doctor for examination as soon as possible to prevent neurological or bone problems.

Children are at the peak of normal growth and development due to calcium deficiency. The formation of bones in the body depends heavily on calcium and other elements. If calcium deficiency occurs, it will cause pain when the legs are stretched, exercise excessively or other stimuli occur. Calcium supplementation is needed at this time.

How to supplement calcium

1. Calcium carbonate

It has high calcium content, few side effects, is cheap, and has a high absorption rate of up to 40%, similar to milk. It is a calcium preparation that is easily accepted and widely used by people across the country.

2. Calcium lactate

It is one of the traditional calcium supplements in my country. Its advantage is that it is easy to dissolve, and its disadvantage is that the calcium content is low. Such preparations include: calcium lactate, containing 13% calcium; calcium gluconate, containing 9% calcium. The content is even lower after being made into tablets. To achieve the daily calcium supplementation of 1,000 mg for adults, too many tablets need to be taken, which is difficult for people to accept.

3. Calcium ammonium phosphate

It is a commonly used calcium supplement in Japan. It contains 23.3% calcium, which is relatively high. It is also produced by Chengdu Pharmaceutical Factory in my country. Each tablet contains 70 mg of calcium. The calcium content and the price of the drug are medium, but its disadvantage is that the tablets are difficult to disintegrate and absorb. In addition, it contains high phosphorus, which is harmful to people with renal dysfunction. Therefore, it is seldom used.
