The baby's skin is the most tender, and at the same time, it is also the most easily affected by the outside world in life. For example, some common conditions such as dryness and lack of water can easily make the baby's skin quality deteriorate, and even more susceptible to infection by external microorganisms and develop some skin diseases. Therefore, the issue of baby skin care is also an issue that every mother should pay attention to.
Newborns have dry and flaky skin, most commonly on the palms and soles. This is normal and not a skin disease, and it cannot be said that the skin of these babies is "dry". Most disappear quickly within a few days after birth. Care measures: You can use a small amount of gel and gently rub it on the dry skin surface to keep it moist and relieve the symptoms. Milia There are some small white spots on the baby's nose bridge, which is "infant miliaria". Nursing measures: It’s not a big deal, don’t squeeze it. They are caused by a temporary blockage of your baby's sweat and sebaceous glands. It will go away on its own within a few weeks without treatment. Cradle Cap In the first few weeks after birth, some babies develop brown, crusty patches on their heads, commonly known as cradle cap. Sometimes this spreads to the baby's face, torso, or diaper area, causing a red, scaly rash. It may look rough and ugly, but it won't cause pain to your baby. Care measures: You can wet the plaques with baby repair gel and keep it for a few hours to soften it. Then gently comb your baby's hair to remove the scales. Finally, wash your baby's hair with baby shampoo or baby soap.
Red papules appear on the cheeks and above the eyebrows, and babies often cry because of this. This is "infant eczema", commonly known as "milk ringworm", which is generally related to the baby's physical allergies. Nursing measures: Wash your baby's face with warm water, avoid soap or other irritants. After washing, apply repair gel or allergy-relieving medicine. Keep your baby's fingernails short and avoid dressing them too thickly or too warmly to minimize stimulation. Diaper rash Diaper rash is a skin disease caused by irritation of the baby's skin by urine and feces. It may also be caused by not rinsing off the soapy water when washing cloth diapers. Nursing measures: Change the baby's soiled or wet diapers in time; wash the baby's buttocks with warm water every time you change the diaper, do not use soap or overheated water (should be >40℃); apply baby diaper cream or repair gel, it is best to use medication and strengthen care under the guidance of a doctor.
Baby's skin is prone to prickly heat in summer. Nursing measures: Keep the room ventilated and cool, don't wear too much, take a bath with warm water, and keep your skin dry. If the symptoms of prickly heat persist and cannot be relieved, you should go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment. |
