Little girl always wants to pee

Little girl always wants to pee

There are two situations in which little girls have frequent urination. One is normal physiological frequent urination, for example, drinking too much water, ill-fitting pants, mental factors, etc. can all cause children to urinate frequently. Another type of frequent urination is pathological. Children suffering from urinary tract infection, stones, cancer and other diseases may suffer from frequent urination. Therefore, parents must not take the symptom of frequent urination in children lightly. They must take their children to the hospital in time to check the cause and then receive treatment!

1. Causes

1. Pathological frequent urination

Pathological frequent urination may be caused by infection, stones, tumors or foreign bodies, with urinary tract infection being the most common. After a child has a urinary tract infection, the amount of urine each time is not much, but the frequency of urination increases significantly, and there may be symptoms such as urgency and pain when urinating. Because of the pain, children often cry when they urinate. In addition, urinary tract infection is usually accompanied by systemic symptoms. Such as increased body temperature, loss of appetite, vomiting and so on. A routine urine test can aid in the diagnosis. During treatment, give children plenty of water, let them get enough rest, and use antibiotics and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor.

Pinworm irritation can also cause frequent urination in children. After being infected with pinworms, the adult worms will crawl to the vicinity of the anus at night to lay eggs, and white thread-like worms can be seen during examination. During treatment, the child's nails should be cut, the thumb sucking habit should be corrected, underwear and bedding should be ironed and washed, and anthelmintics should be taken under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Physiological frequent urination

In addition to physiological frequent urination caused by lifestyle factors such as drinking too much water, cold weather, and ill-fitting pants, the most common cause is psychological frequent urination. Short-term frequent urination is often related to children wanting to get their parents' attention. Many young parents have this experience: when the adults are chatting enthusiastically, the children will shout from time to time: "Mom (Dad) I want to pee!" This frequent urination is usually temporary, and when the parents take the child to the toilet and interrupt the conversation, the frequent urination will naturally disappear. However, if parents do not pay enough attention to their children, so that their children always use urination as a "trump card" to seek attention, they may develop habitual psychogenic frequent urination, which will be difficult to correct at this time.

2. Influencing factors

One is the urethral factor: if the frequency of urination increases but the amount of urine is not much each time, there is no painful expression when urinating, and there are no other symptoms, local factors should be considered first, such as inflammation of the urethral orifice, foreskin is too long, or pinworms irritating the genitals.

The second is dietary factors: if the frequency of urination increases and the amount of urine each time is also large, and there are other discomfort symptoms, the first thing to pay attention to is whether you drink too much water, especially children who like to drink sugary water. This situation often occurs.

The third is neurological factors: because children have not yet matured, some functions are not yet complete. If the detrusor muscle of the bladder is underdeveloped and the nerves are not sound, daytime spot polyuria may occur, up to 20-30 times, but normal urination at night, and there is a tendency to recur. Go to the hospital for examination, and urine tests are mostly normal.

Fourth, urinary tract inflammation; urine examination may reveal pus cells or a large number of white blood cells under a microscope. In severe cases, it may be accompanied by symptoms of systemic infection and poisoning, and antibiotic treatment is required.

Fifth, other systemic diseases: such as frequent urination accompanied by large urine volume, thirst, polydipsia, polyphagia and weight loss, you should pay attention to check the urine. If the urine contains sugar, you should consider the possibility of diabetes. If there is no sugar in the urine but the specific gravity is low, you should consider whether you have diabetes insipidus.

3. Diagnostic Criteria

1. Nocturnal urination in children does not increase;

2. The frequency of urination decreases when the mind is focused;

3. When you have the urge to defecate, you may temporarily forget to go to the toilet because of other things that distract your attention;

4. No fever or other general discomfort.
