What should I do if my baby gets a dent on his forehead?

Sometimes parents are careless, and many babies have accidents because their parents neglect to take care of them. For example, some babies like to run and jump, and sometimes they may fall at home. Once their heads hit the corner of the table or other places, a depression will occur in the bones of the forehead, which can be seen with the naked eye. So, what should you do if your baby has a dent on his forehead?

It is inevitable that babies will suffer minor injuries as they grow, and it would be a bit of an exaggeration to go to the hospital every time.

If the baby's bleeding after a bump or scrape is minor, you can immediately use clean water, saline or medical alcohol to clean the dirt and other debris on the wound. When using medical alcohol, avoid contact with mucous membranes. Alcohol is not suitable for use on large wounds as it is irritating and can easily cause pain.

If there is a lot of bleeding, you can press the wound with gauze, cotton balls or other clean items for 5 to 10 minutes to stop the bleeding. If the wound is too deep or too large and bleeding does not stop, you should seek medical attention immediately.

If your baby gets bumps or scrapes, do not apply any medicine on the bleeding wound. Just let the wound heal on its own.

There will be body fluid exudation from the wound, but no special treatment is required. If the baby continues to feel pain, it may be that there are foreign objects such as glass or stones in the wound that have not been cleaned up, or there is bone damage, and the baby needs to be treated in the hospital.

If your baby gets bumped or scraped, keep the wound exposed as much as possible. Do not use gauze to bandage it and do not let the wound get soaked in water. The wound will usually heal in 3-5 days. If the wound easily rubs against clothes and causes pain, you can cover it with gauze.

Minor bumps and scrapes are inevitable for babies, so parents don't need to be too nervous. The human body has a strong ability to heal itself, and very few wounds require treatment in a hospital. May every baby grow up healthily!
