Can children's earwax be removed?

When children are young, they usually like to move around, so there are many things that are very difficult to do with children, such as cutting the baby's hair, cleaning the baby's ears, etc. Some people say that children's ears do not need to be cleaned and should be left to nature. However, many parents find that their baby's ears are already blocked. Can children's earwax be cleaned out? If a child has too much earwax, you can go to a pediatric hospital to see a doctor. Don't pick your child's ears yourself.

Children's earwax can be cleaned out, but not frequently. Generally speaking, as long as the baby's ears do not hurt, itch, and have good hearing, the earwax does not need to be removed artificially. When you talk, eat or sneeze, the earwax in the ear canal will gradually loosen and fall off as the lower jaw moves, and be discharged unconsciously. Therefore, if there is a small amount of earwax in the baby's ears, parents do not need to worry, and there is no need to dig the baby's ears to avoid damaging the skin of the external auditory canal and causing infection, or even damaging the eardrum. If the earwax is near the external auditory canal, parents can deal with it simply, but do not clean the earwax inside the ear. Parents can use a cotton swab to gently rotate the external auditory canal for a circle, tilting the ear opening downward to facilitate the discharge of earwax.

The more you dig your ears, the more earwax you will produce. Frequent ear digging will repeatedly irritate the external auditory canal, causing congestion on the skin and increased earwax secretions. Children have a fast metabolism and secrete more earwax. Frequent ear cleaning will make the earwax increase, creating a vicious cycle. Generally speaking, earwax will fall off automatically when you talk, eat, exercise, yawn, etc. Parents no longer need to go through the trouble of cleaning their children's ears. If there is too much earwax and your ears are itchy, you can use a cotton ball to gently rotate the external auditory canal to remove the earwax. Or you can rub your baby's earlobe to loosen the earwax, and then tilt the baby's head to let the earwax fall out by itself.

Children have a lot of earwax, and the key is to clean it correctly. If your baby has a lot of earwax, you must clean it, otherwise it will cause earwax blockage and even affect hearing. You can use a cotton swab dipped in water and gently wipe the external auditory canal, and remove it after the earwax is moistened. Let the baby lie on its side and drop 1 to 2 drops of ear drops in the ear. After the drops are instilled, let the baby remain lying on its side for 2 minutes to allow the earwax to be fully diluted and then removed; use a sterilized cotton ball to make an earplug and plug one in the baby's ear. Take out the earplug the next day and the earwax stuck on it can be removed; if the baby's earwax is secreted too much and coagulates into hard lumps that cause obstruction of the external auditory canal, it is recommended to take the baby to the ENT department of the hospital to seek help from a doctor. Do not force the baby to deal with it at home.
