The child's poop is white

Everyone knows that when children are young, because they eat breast milk and formula, their stools are different from those of normal people. Their stools look lighter in color, and the smell of stools is not particularly smelly. If the child's stools are white, it means that the baby's gastrointestinal function has been affected. So what is the matter with the baby's white stools?

What is the normal color of baby's stool?

When the baby is just born: dark green or dark green

Meconium is mainly composed of amniotic fluid, shed tissues or cells inhaled by the baby in the uterus. The baby's bowel movement condition will not last forever. If the feeding conditions are good, the baby will have normal bowel movements in about 3 days.

After the baby eats breast milk: golden yellow

It transitions from green to yellow-green and finally to golden yellow. Breast milk contains oligosaccharides that stimulate intestinal peristalsis. The stool is not too hard, has a sour taste and no foam. The number of bowel movements per day is relatively high, and four or five times a day is relatively normal.

When the baby is eating formula milk: earthy yellow or golden yellow

Feces are less, slightly dry, rough, and slightly hard like hard paste. As long as they are not difficult to defecate and not like sheep feces, it is okay. If there is no problem with digestion, they are mostly earthy yellow or golden yellow with a slightly sour smell, about 1-2 times a day; sometimes the stool is yellow with green or turquoise, because the iron content in formula milk is very high. When the baby does not fully absorb the iron, the excess iron will make the stool green, which is normal;

When the baby is eating solid food: darkening

As the types and quantities of complementary foods added to babies increase, the stool consistency gradually approaches that of adults, with a darker color, mostly brown or dark brown, thicker than peanut butter, but still paste-like; the color is sometimes related to the color of the food ingested; for example, babies who eat more vegetables and fruits will have fluffier stools, and babies who eat more fish, meat, milk, and eggs will have problems digesting protein, and their stools will be smellier;

Many mothers carefully observe their baby's "smelly" stool, and questions arise. Is green stool normal? Why is the stool white? Why is there foam and milk curd? Why is the stool like tofu dregs or egg drop soup? ..... Changes in stool color and shape are a barometer of the baby's health, but it cannot be judged solely from the stool. It is also necessary to observe whether the baby's mental state, sleep, diet, etc. have changed, and consider many aspects;
