Cefixime dry suspension is a dry suspension, and the contents are white to light yellow powder. The main ingredient is cefixime. So, what is the dosage of cefixime dry suspension for children?

Cefixime dry suspension is mainly used to treat bronchitis, bronchiectasis and infection, secondary infection of chronic respiratory diseases, pneumonia, pyelonephritis, cystitis, gonococcal urethritis, cholecystitis, cholangitis, scarlet fever, otitis media, sinusitis and other diseases.

Cefixime dry suspension is effective for infections caused by Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Gonorrhea, Burkholderia, Escherichia coli, Serratia, Klebsiella, Proteus, and Haemophilus influenzae.

Cefixime dry suspension has good permeability and has high concentrations in tissues such as sputum, tonsils, upper sinus mucosa, middle ear secretions, bile and gallbladder. Cefixime dry suspension is mainly excreted by the kidneys. The urinary excretion rate within 12 hours after oral administration is about 20-25% in normal adults and about 13-20% in children. No active metabolites are found in serum and urine.

Children's dosage of cefixime dry suspension: Oral, halve the dosage, or calculate the dosage at 1.5-3.0 mg per kilogram, twice a day.

Note:

1. Use with caution in patients who are allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins, patients with allergic constitutions, patients with severe renal impairment, patients who cannot eat well or take nutrition non-orally, the elderly, and patients with cachexia.

2. In the experiment on young rats, it was found that oral administration of more than 1000 mg/kg had the effect of inhibiting sperm formation, so it is not suitable for men of childbearing age.
