More and more children are dying from cancer. Do you know why?

There is data showing that in real life, the incidence of malignant tumors in children is gradually increasing. How exactly do children get cancer? Experts believe that there are several reasons:

(1) Genetic factors play a major role in the occurrence of childhood cancer. Moreover, the few purely "hereditary tumors" in humans are mostly childhood tumors, such as retinoblastoma, nephroblastoma, multiple neurofibromatosis, pheochromocytoma, etc.

(2) Environmental pollution: Many carcinogens can enter the fetus through the placenta, affecting the formation of deoxyribonucleic acid, causing cell lesions and leading to cancer in the future. If parents are exposed to pesticides and other chemicals in their daily life and work, their children's chances of developing leukemia will increase significantly. What causes cancer in children?

(3) Radiation exposure: If a woman undergoes abdominal X-ray exposure during pregnancy due to illness or other reasons, the possibility of her children developing leukemia in the future increases by nearly 10 times.

(4) Passive smoking: Whether a pregnant woman smokes tobacco herself or passively inhales tobacco smoke, the likelihood that her children will develop leukemia or other tumors in the future increases by more than 50%. What causes cancer in children?

(5) Drugs: Certain drugs can also cause side effects such as allergic reactions, poisoning, or immune system suppression in the human body. For example, some pregnancy and tocopherol drugs can cause vaginal adenocarcinoma in daughters or testicular cancer in sons. Some anti-epileptic drugs can cause malignant lymphoma in children.

(6) Viral infection For children, related viruses such as human T-cell lymphotropic virus can cause leukemia or malignant lymphoma; Epstein-Barr virus can cause Burkitt's lymphoma; hepatitis B virus can cause liver cancer, etc. What causes cancer in children?

Therefore, parents should pay special attention. If they find that their children have unexplained lumps, pain, swollen lymph nodes (without tenderness), persistent fever, etc., they should go to a specialist hospital as soon as possible for early treatment. At the same time, parents should overcome the bad habit of smoking, pay attention to cultivating good living habits for their children, and let their children grow up healthily.
