In our lives, there are many Japanese encephalitis diseases that children are particularly prone to, so most children will be vaccinated against Japanese encephalitis when they are just born. However, the symptoms of Japanese encephalitis are generally contagious and are relatively serious. Therefore, even after being bitten by mosquitoes, they may cause Japanese encephalitis. At this time, the child will have a fever and weakness. So what are the symptoms of Japanese encephalitis caused by mosquito bites? The main symptoms of Japanese encephalitis are fever, weakness and other general discomfort. After 1 to 2 days, the body temperature gradually increases, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, convulsions and impaired consciousness. At the same time, there may be drowsiness, lethargy or even coma, or mental symptoms such as delirium (talking nonsense) and agitation. If your baby has the above symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately. Pay attention to giving your baby enough nutrition and water, and give cool drinks and liquid diet according to local conditions, such as watermelon juice, mung bean soup, milk, soy milk, vegetable soup, etc. Epidemic Japanese encephalitis, abbreviated as JE, is an acute infectious disease caused by the JE virus and transmitted through mosquito bites. It is common in children and adolescents, with a highest incidence rate in the months of July, August and September. The clinical features are high fever, impaired consciousness, convulsions, and meningeal irritation symptoms. Severe patients may have respiratory and circulatory failure. Source of infection Japanese encephalitis is a natural zoonotic disease. Animals (such as pigs, cattle, horses, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc.) and humans can serve as sources of infection. During the epidemic, the infection rate of pigs was 100%, and that of horses was over 90%, making them important animal sources of infection for this disease. After being infected, people only experience short-term viremia and the amount of virus in the blood is small, so patients and latently infected people are of little significance as sources of infection. Mode of transmission It is mainly transmitted through mosquito bites, and the main transmission vector in my country is Culex tritaeniorhynchus. Since mosquitoes can carry the virus over the winter and pass it on through eggs, they are not only a transmission medium but also a long-term storage host, causing great harm. Susceptible population The disease is generally susceptible, with latent infection being the most common. The ratio of explicit to latent infection is 1:300~2000. Cases are mainly concentrated in children under 10 years old, and most adults are immune due to latent infection. Popular characteristics The disease is prevalent in large areas of my country, except in northern Northeast China, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Tibet where it has not been reported. The occurrence of this disease is consistent with the mosquito density curve. The temperature and rainfall are also closely related to the prevalence of the disease, so it has strict seasonality. |
