What to do if your child has low IQ?

Parents should never make blind judgments about whether their children have low IQ. Children have relatively poor abilities in all aspects. Do not measure children's abilities by adult standards. If a child has a low IQ, his facial expressions will be abnormal, such as drooling or squinting eyes, etc. In addition, the child's speech function may become very poor, motor skills will also decrease, etc. So, what methods are there to improve children's IQ?

What to do if your child has low IQ?

1. Etiological treatment: For those whose etiology has been identified, such as chronic disease, poisoning, long-term malnutrition, hearing and vision impairment, efforts should be made to eliminate the cause as much as possible to partially or completely restore their intelligence. Children with endocrine and metabolic abnormalities such as hypothyroidism and phenylketonuria should be diagnosed early and receive thyroid hormone replacement or special diet therapy for phenylketonuria to improve their intelligence level. For children with intellectual disability caused by social, psychological and cultural reasons, their intelligence can be improved by changing their environmental conditions, allowing them to live in a friendly and harmonious family and strengthening their education.

2. Training and rehabilitation should be coordinated with medical, social, educational and vocational training measures according to age and intelligence.

The severity of the low is to train the patient to reach the highest possible level of intelligence.

3. Dietary treatment: Milk: Every 100 grams of milk contains 3.5 grams of protein and 125 milligrams of calcium. The calcium in milk can regulate the excitability of nerves and muscles. If children drink a cup of milk every morning, it will help improve their cognitive ability and ensure that the brain works efficiently. Fish: Fish contains globulin, albumin and a large amount of unsaturated fatty acids. It is also rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamins, which can also enhance children's memory.

In terms of language ability: When the child cannot speak yet, you should talk to him/her and communicate with him/her emotionally. Let your children listen to more music, conversations, nursery rhymes, stories, etc. to enhance their language perception and comprehension abilities, and teach them to pronounce single sounds in an entertaining way until they can learn simple words and sentences. The development of language skills is a step-by-step and sequential process and should not be rushed.

Reasoning and judgment ability: This part is the most important part of intelligence. Common manifestations of abnormal comprehension ability are: inability to use personal pronouns ", he (she)"; reversal of words and confusion in use; inability to use situational language; strange voice, which is obviously different from ordinary people in volume, speed, rhythm and tone; simple form and stereotyped and artificial.
