The brain skeleton of a newborn baby is probably not fully developed, and many bones have not grown out. Some skull bones need to grow slowly in the later stages, so parents should protect their baby's head from impact. However, some babies may have developmental deformities, such as a high and protruding bone at the back of the head. So what should be done with the protruding bone at the back of the head? There is a protrusion on the back of the occipital bone called the external occipital protuberance, which is a normal structure; the other one may be a lymph node, which is composed of lymphatic tissue and reticuloendothelial cells and is distributed among the lymph throughout the body. The lymphocytes produced by the lymph nodes have immune functions, and can filter, clear and phagocytize bacteria (pathogenic substances) in the lymphatic vessels, thereby protecting the health of children. Because the child's lymphatic system is not fully developed at birth, the lymphatic system develops vigorously during early childhood. Generally healthy infants and young children can often feel single, soft or slightly hard, non-tender lymph nodes ranging in size from mung bean to soybean on the superficial surface of the neck, under the jaw, behind the occipital bone, in front of the ear, and in the groin. This is a physiological phenomenon and generally does not require treatment. If you are really worried, you can go to a regular hospital and listen to what professional doctors say. The child has a hard lump on the right back of his head, which may be caused by a sebaceous cyst or swollen lymph nodes. In the child's case, inadvertent trauma may also cause hematoma muscularization. The child's condition here is just a preliminary consideration. It requires a pediatric surgical blood test, ultrasound examination and clinical examination to determine the cause and then decide how to use medication for treatment. Sebaceous cyst, commonly known as "sebaceous cyst", is a retention cyst formed mainly due to obstruction of the sebaceous gland excretion duct, which causes the sebaceous gland cystic epithelium to swell with gradually increasing contents. It is characterized by a slowly growing benign lesion. There is white bean curd-like secretion in the cyst. It can occur at any age, but is more common in young and middle-aged people, and is prone to occur on the head, face, neck, chest and back. Sebaceous cysts protrude from the surface of the skin and generally have no subjective symptoms. If secondary infection occurs, they may cause pain and suppuration. |
