How do children take care of their teeth? Scientific brushing is the most important

If parents do not pay attention to supervise and protect children's teeth, it is easy to cause tooth decay. If children want to have healthy teeth, they must pay attention when brushing their teeth, master the correct brushing method, choose a suitable toothbrush, and make sure to develop the habit of brushing their teeth before going to bed at night.

There are three common methods of brushing your teeth:

① Vertical brushing method: This brushing method has a good massage effect on the gums and can effectively clean the gaps between teeth. It is a recommended brushing method. When operating, place the bristles on the gums at a 45-degree angle, then rotate toward the crown, and repeat 8-10 times for each part. When brushing the occlusal surface of the teeth, place the toothbrush flat on the tooth surface and pull it back and forth to remove the residue in the pits and fissures.

②BASS brushing method: When brushing the labial and lingual surfaces of the teeth, the bristle head should be at a 45-degree angle to the tooth surface and point toward the gums. The bristles should enter the gaps between teeth and vibrate back and forth over a short distance. When brushing the jaw surface, the bristles should be placed flat on the tooth surface and vibrate back and forth over a short distance to clean the pits and fissures. This method of brushing has a strong cleaning power and can effectively remove plaque in the tooth neck and gingival sulcus. The BASS brushing method belongs to the short-distance horizontal brushing method. Although it is a horizontal brushing method, due to the short distance, it is almost a vibration. It is not the ordinary horizontal brushing method that pulls drastically and damages the neck of the tooth. If you combine the vertical brushing method with the BASS brushing method, the effect will be better.

③ Physiological brushing method: The top of the toothbrush bristles contacts the tooth surface, and then lightly brushes towards the gums. This method can promote blood circulation, enhance the health of periodontal tissues, and is suitable for children with normal periodontal tissues. It is generally recommended to brush your teeth once in the morning and once in the evening, and then rinse your mouth after each meal. Each brushing time should generally not be less than 2-3 minutes.

Children need to be reminded not to swallow toothpaste when brushing their teeth, as swallowing toothpaste is very harmful. They should rinse their mouths thoroughly after brushing their teeth. Children's toothbrushes have very high requirements. Generally, parents can refer to the following data when purchasing:

The length of the brush head is 16-18 mm, not more than 28 mm;

The brush head width is 8-9 mm, no more than 10 mm;

Hair tuft height 8-9 mm, 9-10 mm;

The number of rows of hair bundles shall not exceed 3;

Bristle diameter 0.18 mm;

The total length of the toothbrush is about 120 mm and about 150 mm.
