What to do if children's tonsils are often inflamed

Tonsillitis in children is a common disease among children. This disease can be acute or chronic. No matter which condition it is, the child will have quite obvious symptoms. The main and most serious one is inflammation. In particular, some children often suffer from tonsillitis, which makes many parents particularly anxious and worried.

The main causes of the disease in children are insufficient constitution and deficiency of both Qi and blood, which lead to stagnation of phlegm and swelling. Antibiotics must be used in sufficient quantities and for a sufficient period of time. For children with acute tonsillitis, the treatment methods of Western medicine are as follows:

1. Pay attention to rest, drink plenty of water, eat soft food, enhance nutrition and clear bowel movements. When the sore throat is severe or the fever is high, you can take antipyretic and analgesic drugs orally.

2. Use local treatment, such as gargling with compound boric acid solution, warm salt water, etc., or taking throat lozenges, local flushing and steam inhalation, etc. In addition, antibiotics can be used to treat concurrent bacterial infections. It should be emphasized that when using antibiotics for treatment, the dosage must be sufficient and the course of treatment must be long enough.

3. Use block therapy, that is, inject 0.5% procaine containing 95% anhydrous alcohol into the upper, middle and lower parts of the tonsils. Three times as a course of treatment.

4. Surgical treatment: For children with recurrent chronic tonsillitis or multiple complications of peritonsillar abscesses, as well as those with enlarged tonsils that interfere with swallowing and breathing, and those who are often inflamed and spread to adjacent organs, causing otitis media, lymphadenitis, etc., surgical removal can be performed. In addition, if tonsillitis causes rheumatic fever, myocarditis, arthritis, nephritis and other diseases, the child can also undergo tonsillectomy if the tonsillitis is under control.

Tonsillitis in children is a serious disease. This disease will occur less and less as children grow up, so parents should not worry too much. They should pay attention to the care of their children in daily life, take good care of their oral cavity, drink more water and eat more light food.
