Why does my 4-year-old baby always complain of stomachache?

Many children will have some stomach pain as they grow up, but it is not very serious. Generally speaking, they suddenly feel stomach pain when they are about to go to bed at night. It feels like they have caught a cold, but it doesn’t seem like it. After about ten minutes, it begins to get better, and then it starts to recur the next day. So what exactly causes a 4-year-old baby to often have stomach pain?

Common high-risk factors for intrauterine growth retardation include: ① maternal age > 30 years old, or < 17 years old; ② pre-pregnancy weight < 45 kg; ③ history of induced abortion or spontaneous abortion within six months before this pregnancy; ④ history of vaginal bleeding before 20 weeks of pregnancy; ⑤ combined with chronic hypertension, systemic lupus erythematosus, chronic liver and kidney disease, heart disease and tuberculosis, etc.; ⑥ history of adverse delivery, etc. If two consecutive prenatal examinations show that the uterine height has not increased or is lower than the 10th percentile of the normal value for the corresponding gestational age, and if the weight and abdominal circumference have not increased or have decreased, you should be highly vigilant.

More attention should be paid to pregnant women who have high-risk factors, live in plateau areas, have been exposed to radiation, taken teratogenic drugs, or have smoking habits. The diagnosis of intrauterine growth retardation is mainly determined by measuring the biparietal diameter of the fetus through B-ultrasound or by extracting amniotic fluid to check the maturity of the fetus. Its prevention work can be carried out from the following aspects:

(1) Early diagnosis of chromosomal diseases and congenital malformations in fetuses. Indications for early prenatal diagnosis include: 1. Pregnant woman aged 35 years or husband aged 45 years or above; 2. The couple has chromosomal abnormalities or has given birth to a child with chromosomal abnormalities; 3. Close relatives have congenital idiocy or other chromosomal diseases; 4. Family history of sex-linked genetic diseases or have given birth to a child with sex-linked genetic diseases;

When a child shows some cold-like symptoms, he or she will often experience abdominal pain during the illness. However, as long as the condition is not serious, it will gradually improve on its own. You can go to the hospital for an ultrasound. If the examination is normal, then there is basically no problem.
