My two-month-old baby has a red and hard chin.

A two-month-old baby is still in the stage of physical development, and the functions of various organs have not yet fully developed. At this time, parents may not help the baby wipe his mouth in time when feeding, resulting in many red and hard spots on the chin. In this case, it should be considered that frequent drooling, coupled with the hem being too wet, will cause chin allergies.

There are generally two reasons why your baby's chin is red:

The bottle pressed on the baby's chin. Because we are bottle-feeding, we use bottles quite often, and the baby's little chin easily turns red. The second reason is that the baby starts to drool, so the saliva turns his chin red. So, what? My way of dealing with it: For the first reason, the baby's chin is red due to using a bottle, which is easy to deal with. Just pay attention to the posture when feeding the baby.

Generally, when using a bottle, the bottle should be held at an angle of about 45 degrees to the baby's face, so that it will not have an adverse effect on the baby's oral development. If the angle between the bottle and the baby's face is too large, it may affect the normal development of the baby's teeth and oral cavity. If the angle is too small, it will obviously cause the baby's little chin to be pressed red by the bottle. If your baby is like mine and holds the bottle to drink milk by himself, and if the baby's holding posture is not correct, mothers should pay attention to help the baby correct it and help the baby hold the bottle when necessary.

Don't assume that your baby is good at holding the bottle by himself, so don't just put the bottle in his hands and go about your own business. Even if the baby drinks milk by himself, the mother should stay with the baby. I usually gently stroke the baby's forehead or touch his little hands, which can enhance the emotional communication between mother and child.

For the second reason, the solution is relatively simple, which is to pay attention to the care of the baby's skin. The baby's skin is very delicate, so it can easily be soaked red by saliva. What the mother needs to do is to wash the baby's face with warm water every morning, especially the chin area. Do not rub when wiping the baby's face. Use a soft towel or gauze to gently dry it, and then apply some lotion or baby oil to the baby to add a layer of protective film to the baby's skin. Pay attention to wiping your baby's saliva frequently. Of course, the wiping here means dipping. The baby's skin is too tender, so try not to rub it. A gentle dip will not damage the baby's skin. If necessary, you can increase the frequency of washing your baby's chin to avoid irritating the baby's chin skin with saliva.

In addition, try not to choose cotton or towel bibs for your baby. It is best to use gauze, because cotton bibs or towels will become harder the more they are washed, while gauze will become softer and will not cause harm to the baby's skin. This is all I want to share with you about the topic of baby’s red chin. I hope it will be helpful to you.
