Hydronephrosis in children is quite harmful, so in order to better reduce the adverse effects it causes, we must pay attention to correct treatment and understand the causes. For example, common ureteral obstruction or urine reflux may cause hydronephrosis. Surgical treatment actually achieves better results now, but the treatment plan must also be decided based on the patient's actual situation and age. 1. There are two main causes of hydronephrosis in children: the first is ureteral obstruction. This is the most common cause of kidney hydrops. Because a small section of the ureter is blocked, urine cannot flow to the bladder and accumulates in the kidneys. The second is urine reflux. Normally, urine flows from the kidneys through the ureters to the bladder and then out of the body. Reflux is an abnormal phenomenon in which urine flows back from the bladder to the ureters and even back to the kidneys. The kidneys themselves accumulate urine that is ready to flow to the bladder, plus the urine that flows back, causing hydronephrosis. 2. According to the causes of hydronephrosis in children. By analyzing the cause, the obstruction can be relieved. Because it is caused by ureteral obstruction, the condition of hydronephrosis can usually be improved by removing the narrow section of the ureter and reconnecting it to keep the ureter open. 3. If the symptoms of hydronephrosis in children are severe or the cause is complicated, percutaneous nephrostomy can be performed to drain the kidney first. This method is a minimally invasive surgery that can be tolerated by most people and does not cause too much pain. The operation is generally not very complicated and the damage is minimal. However, minimally invasive surgery is also a type of surgery, and any unexpected situations are inevitable. 4. In cases of severe hydronephrosis or pyonephrosis, the function and capacity of each part of the kidney should be analyzed. If the kidney is functioning well and can meet the body's basic functional needs, surgery can be performed to remove the damaged part. For those who cannot undergo surgical resection, a double "T" tube or stent tube is placed. 5. The effects of hydronephrosis are not noticeable when the patient is young. This is because when children are young, the body does not have much waste to excrete, so even if the kidneys are damaged to a considerable extent, the waste is still sufficient. However, as they age, more waste needs to be excreted, and the effects of hydronephrosis begin to be noticed. |
