Although bedwetting is a common problem among children, if it is a long-term problem and continues after a certain age, then you should pay attention, because it may be caused by underdeveloped urination nerve center function or inflexible nerve control. For example, children with enuresis are usually prone to bedwetting, so symptomatic treatment is required. 1. For a long time, many parents did not think that bedwetting is a disease. They thought that the children were tired from playing, drank too much water, or worked too much. They simply thought that the children were lazy and did not develop good habits. Moreover, they blamed and beat the children because they were exhausted from taking care of the children for a long time. In fact, bedwetting is mainly caused by the imperfect function of the urination nerve center and the poor control of related nerves. 2. Bedwetting in children before the age of 3 is mostly a normal physiological phenomenon, which will gradually improve with age. The awakening response to a full bladder is a physiological process that gradually develops and matures with age. Generally speaking, this process begins to develop in children after the age of 2 and is close to completion by at least the age of 4. 3. Before the age of 3, the awakening response is in the development process. When this physiological process is established and matures, the stimulation of bladder filling can cause changes in brain waves, causing deep sleep to turn into light sleep. Discontinuation of stimulation will eventually lead to awakening. Therefore, normal children will not wet the bed even during sleep. 4. Children with enuresis have developmental delay or disorder. When the bladder of the child is full, the child cannot transmit the stimulation signal of bladder filling to the cerebral cortex like a normal person, causing the detrusor muscle to contract after the bladder is filled to a certain limit, but the child still does not wake up and wets the bed. 5. Children usually stop wetting the bed at night after they are 2-3 years old. They usually sleep well all night long, or they drink too much water at night and occasionally ask adults to urinate. Therefore, as long as a child wets the bed, there is usually a trigger. It is necessary to distinguish between functional and organic diseases. Functional diseases can be completely cured with medication. For organic diseases, the triggers must be found out in time, and the disease that does not cause bedwetting must be cured. Only then can the bedwetting symptoms be cured. However, organic diseases are uncommon, and functional enuresis generally occurs more often. Director Qi of Shijiazhuang Jinghe Hospital reminds parents to pay attention to correctly understanding their children's enuresis problem. |
