Two and a half year old baby wets the bed at night

It is not uncommon for a two-and-a-half-year-old baby to wet the bed at night, because babies will still wet the bed before they are over four years old, and 12% of children will occasionally wet the bed even when they are six years old. Therefore, parents do not need to worry too much, let alone scold them. Removing the psychological pressure on children and finding out the pattern of their bedwetting can effectively improve the situation.

1. Babies over 4 years old sometimes wet the bed at night. About 12% of children still wet the bed occasionally when they are 6 years old. As long as it is not so frequent every night, parents do not need to worry too much. It is said that bedwetting at night is highly hereditary. Babies whose parents both wet the bed when they were young have a 77% chance of also wetting the bed. Babies whose one parent has a history of bedwetting have a 43% chance of wetting the bed. Babies whose parents neither wet the bed have only a 15% chance of frequently wetting the bed.

2. Whenever your baby wets the bed, never scold him. He didn't do it on purpose and it's not his fault. He already feels very guilty. Don't put pressure on him, otherwise it will make the baby feel inferior and affect his mental health.

3. To prevent your baby from wetting the bed at night, first, avoid letting him drink too much before going to bed; second, be sure to remind him to go to the toilet to urinate before going to bed; third, eliminate the baby's psychological pressure; fourth, find out the baby's bed-wetting pattern.

4. Sometimes, even after you have noticed everything, the baby still wets the bed. What should you do? At this time, parents can observe carefully for a period of time to find out when the baby is prone to wetting the bed at night, and find out the pattern. Then, wake up the baby to urinate within this time range every night. This is indeed quite difficult for parents. There are also many parents who take a laissez-faire attitude and do not pay too much attention to it. As the baby grows older and matures physically and mentally, most babies' bedwetting problem will heal without treatment.
