How to correct your baby's latch

How to correct your baby's latch

To correct the baby's breastfeeding method, you usually need to adjust the correct method during normal feeding. You can let the baby lie on his side, or choose to lie on his back, or hold the baby up and support the neck and head and neck with your hands to feed.

The baby should choose the correct way when feeding, otherwise it is likely to cause big mouthfuls of milk, and some cold air will enter the body accompanied by bloating, which will also cause vomiting later. You can choose the side-lying position when the baby is feeding. The side-lying position can mainly allow the baby's lower jaw to be close to the breast to avoid inhaling cold air. At the same time, it can also allow the baby to gradually fall asleep while feeding, avoiding waking up after feeding.

When the baby is a little older, you can choose to hold him up or lay him on his back while feeding. These are also correct ways of feeding. However, when the baby is feeding, try to raise his head slightly to facilitate swallowing and reduce the occurrence of milk overflowing in the baby's stomach after feeding.

During the breastfeeding process, in addition to paying attention to the feeding method, you should also pay attention to the speed of the child's growth and development. If the child grows and develops slowly, it may be caused by less milk. You can feed the baby with formula milk, and you can also start adding complementary foods after 6 months.
