Can children with autism speak?

Some people think that only humans have their own language. In fact, every living creature has its own language. For example, the barking of dogs and the meowing of cats are all considered language. Sometimes you may see someone who doesn't talk much. In addition to being introverted, it may also be due to a disease that makes him unwilling to speak or simply unable to speak, such as autism. So, can children with autism speak?

How long does it take for autistic people to speak?

For autistic patients, some may never speak in their entire lives, while others can speak. There is no absolute answer to how old a child will be able to speak, and it depends on the condition of the autistic child himself.

How to guide autistic children to speak

1. Face to face: Parents should squat down and talk to their children face to face. Being at the same height as the children will make them feel comfortable. No one likes to look up to listen to others talking, and the same goes for children.

2. Teach according to interest: If you force children to study, they will only lose the motivation to learn. The best way is to follow your child's interests.

3. Repeat and repeat again: "Repetition" is the golden rule of language learning. Imagine that it is the same when we learn other languages. From the above example, we can see that the word "spoon" is mentioned three times in one sentence.

4. Talk about what is happening in front of you: When the child holds the cup and is ready to hand it to the mother, mumbling something for it, the mother knows from experience that the child wants juice. At this time, the mother can take the opportunity to teach the child: This is juice; when the child points to the ball or the dog, these are opportunities for parents to teach the child vocabulary.

5. Add different words: In order to expand the vocabulary of children, it is the responsibility of parents to teach their children the variations of words.
