Can children with body odor use topical medications?

Can children with body odor use topical medications?

Body odor is usually more obvious after exercise and sweating. Children with body odor will be ostracized or even ridiculed by other children, which is very detrimental to the child's physical and mental development. Therefore, it must be treated early. Generally, topical medications only use fragrance to cover the smell of body odor but cannot completely cure it. Therefore, it is best to choose other methods for thorough treatment. You should also pay more attention to personal hygiene in daily life.

Symptoms and signs

When the ambient temperature of a person suffering from axillary odor is high or he is in a nervous mood, his armpits will sweat excessively and abnormally, and emit an unpleasant odor. Excessive sweating and body odor will turn clothes yellow and leave a lingering smell, causing trouble in cleaning. This symptom is most obvious during adolescence and tends to be aggravated in the hot summer.

Treatment

Body odor is also hereditary and is related to gender and racial differences. Among Westerners, body odor is also called "body odor", which means a kind of body smell, that is, body odor. Regarding body odor, generally speaking, women have more than men, and whites and blacks have more than Asians. This is mainly related to the physiological structure and function of the apocrine sweat glands.

Since the apocrine sweat glands secrete vigorously during adolescence, this disease is more common in young and middle-aged people. With the increase of age and the aging of the human body, the apocrine sweat glands gradually degenerate and the symptoms may be alleviated or disappear. Most patients have a family history of this disease.

This kind of difference is mainly a difference in body shape and does not fall into the category of disease. It's just that the smell it produces makes you feel disgusted, so some people go for treatment.

Body odor is common in southerners, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia. This has a lot to do with the local diet and climate. I hope people in these areas can make adjustments in terms of diet and personal hygiene. The preventive effect can be achieved as early as possible. Treatment of body odor with traditional Chinese medicine

Suitable for people: patients with various degrees of body odor who are determined to cure and can adhere to daily medication.

Western medicine treatment method for body odor

The basic principle of treatment is to keep the area clean and remove secretions to reduce bacterial growth; local use of antiperspirants and fragrances, regular scrubbing and application of medicine can temporarily relieve body odor. Permanent removal of the odor may require surgery.

The commonly used surgical treatment method is to remove the axillary apocrine glands. During the operation, one to two incisions of several centimeters are made on both sides of the armpits, and the sweat glands are directly removed. The wounds are then sutured. However, this method has the disadvantages of large wounds, obvious scars, and long recovery time.

In recent years, with the use of thoracoscopic sympathetic nerve surgery, more than 95% of patients have stopped sweating under their armpits, and the odor they had in the past has been significantly improved. Because thoracoscopic surgery is less invasive to the human body and the recovery time is very fast, it has gradually replaced the trend of traditional surgery.

If the armpits have body odor even without sweating, and thoracoscopic sympathetic nerve surgery is not effective, it is recommended that you seek help from a plastic surgeon or general surgeon for traditional body odor surgery to remove the armpit apocrine glands.

Another new option - Currently, some hospitals have made progress in the technology of removing the apocrine glands under the armpits. They use techniques such as subcutaneous liposuction to scrape the apocrine glands under the armpits with an electric rotary scraper. The wound from this operation can be only about one centimeter. However, the wound care and recovery time are still long. The cost of electric rotary scraper armpit surgery is about 10,000 yuan.

However, due to variations in the distribution of sympathetic nerves in the axilla of some people and limited surgical sites, the success rate of axillary hyperhidrosis surgery is reported to be around 90% in domestic and foreign reports (not as good as the almost 100% success rate for hyperhidrosis of the hands).

Diet and health care

Diet therapy for body odor: (for reference only, please consult a doctor for details):

1. Ingredients: appropriate amount of ginger. Usage: Mash the medicine to extract the juice and apply it frequently to the affected area.

2. Ingredients: appropriate amounts of single garlic juice and ginger juice. Usage: Apply to affected area.

3. Ingredients: appropriate amount of tea. Usage: decoct in water and apply to local area and use for bathing.

4. Take one large snail and two croton seeds. Put the croton seeds into the large snail. Use cotton wool dipped in the snail exudate to apply to the armpits, three or four times a day. It is better to add a little musk to treat body odor. There may be a fishy smell during the medication, which is okay.

5. An appropriate amount of fresh Elsholtzia yunnanensis. Usage: Mash the medicine and apply to the armpits once a day for 1 week.

6. Appropriate amount of camphor root. Usage: Grind into fine powder, add cold rice to mix into a dough, and rub underarms.

7. Grind 6 longan seeds and 27 peppercorns into fine powder and apply to the affected area. It will be more effective if you apply it when you are sweating. The author has used this prescription on more than 500 patients with body odor over the past 30 years. Although it has good effects, not a single case of the disease was cured completely.

8. After each shower, take a ripe but not fully softened tomato, use a knife to cut a flat cut into it, and apply it to both armpits. For mild cases, apply it twice a week; for severe cases, apply it once a day.

9. Fry 250 grams of salt in a pan, wrap it with two layers of gauze, and rub your armpits with it while it is warm. Once every 1 to 2 days. It is best to wash your armpits before use.

First of all, you must eat more vegetables, fruits and melons that are rich in water. For example, lettuce, cabbage, oranges, watermelon and winter melon are all rich in water. You should also absorb more high-fiber and water-rich foods, which can increase the speed of bowel movements and then excrete the organic substances in the stomach and intestines out of the body, making it difficult for bacteria to grow, which can naturally reduce some body odor.

The fiber in vegetables can effectively promote intestinal and gastric motility, reduce the time food stays in the intestines, reduce the absorption of nutrients, and help excrete waste that is not beneficial to the human body as early as possible. Modern people consume too many processed products in their diet, so they should eat more vegetables. In addition to slowing down the rate of food digestion and absorption, it can also strengthen the stomach and intestines, and adjust blood quality and body constitution. Vegetables are rich in vitamins, among which vitamin C and vitamin A are the most important. However, vitamin C will be lost in large quantities during cooking. The darker the green or yellow the vegetable is, the more vitamin A and vitamin C it contains.

What is bad for the patient to eat?

Eat less or no strong irritating foods. Eat less meat, less fried food, eat light food, do not drink alcohol, and smoke less. These can all play a good auxiliary role in the recovery of body odor.

Preventive Care

How to prevent body odor?

(1) Pay attention to personal hygiene, take a bath frequently, change underwear frequently, and keep your armpits dry and clean at all times to reduce the spread of odor. You can also apply Xishilan Summer Dew and Dissolve Armpit Fragrance topically to remove odor. Eat less or no strongly irritating foods.

(2) Using liquid nitrogen to freeze the sweat glands can damage the secretion function of the underarm sweat glands.

(3) Surgical removal of the apocrine sweat glands in the armpits is an ideal radical cure. The surgery is performed under local anesthesia and generally does not require hospitalization.
