What should children with tics not eat?

When a child suffers from tics, parents should take the child to actively seek treatment, do not scold the child, comfort the child effectively, and adjust the child's diet. When a child suffers from tics, the child should eat more foods containing the trace element calcium. Foods containing elements such as magnesium and iron, such as fungi, bones, etc. Of course, there are some foods that cannot be given to children with Tourette syndrome, and parents must pay attention to this.

1. Avoid foods containing more salicylates:

Foods containing methylsalicylic acid, such as tomatoes, apples, oranges and apricots, can cause tics in children with genetic factors.

2. Avoid using food additives and artificial colors:

Foreign scholars believe that artificial colors such as tartrate, flavors, pepper oil and other seasonings are related to the onset of tics. Therefore, children with Tourette syndrome should not eat foods with pigments, such as cola, orange juice, fruit dew, candied fruit, red and green icing on cream cakes, and various foods with flavorings.

3. Avoid eating foods high in lead

Avoid using lead-containing utensils: Lead intake has a considerable impact on childhood tics. Children should avoid using lead-containing utensils and not eat foods contaminated by lead, such as shellfish, prawns, sunflowers, mussels, cabbage, preserved eggs, as well as vegetables and popcorn grown around smelters. Don't drink alcoholic beverages.

4. Avoid eating foods high in aluminum:

Aluminum is a metal element that threatens human health and can cause intellectual impairment, memory loss, loss of appetite, and indigestion. Children with Tourette syndrome should not use uncoated aluminum tableware or containers, or use them to cook high-protein, acidic foods and beverages.

5. Avoid foods containing tyrosine:

Milk, dairy products, tofu skin, soybeans, and dried cod are rich in tyrosine. The content of P-cresol in the stool of children with Tourette syndrome is higher than that of normal children. P-cresol is the product of tyrosine metabolism by human intestinal microorganisms, so large consumption should be avoided.

6. Avoid eating too much sugar:

Desserts, various candies, beverages, cold drinks and other foods with high sugar content, if consumed excessively, can cause endocrine system dysfunction in the body, and children may develop tics, so they should be eaten less.

7. Avoid partial eclipse:

The development, growth and intellectual development of children's brain cells require various nutrients, such as high-protein, high-lecithin, high-vitamin B, high-zinc foods and fish foods, in order to activate brain nerve cells, improve brain function, enhance judgment and reduce errors. Therefore, children with Tourette syndrome should avoid picky eating.
