What causes ringworm in children? Seven causes of ringworm

Children are prone to ringworm on their faces. There is a folk saying that it is because there are worms in the children's stomachs that they get ringworm on their faces. In fact, this statement is too one-sided. There are many causes of facial tinea. Some are white spots caused by bacterial infection, while others may be physiological white spots. Usually, no treatment or medication is required and it will heal on its own in half a month. Ringworm on the face is more common among children and teenagers, especially in the spring when the weather is warm and the flowers are blooming, when the skin is dry and flaky, making it more likely to develop ringworm. In daily life, in addition to ensuring the cleanliness of the skin, we also need to drink plenty of water to prevent the skin from drying out and flaking. Let’s take a closer look at the seven major causes of ringworm in children.

In spring, many children or adolescent boys and girls will have ringworm on their faces, and their skin will turn white, peel and dry. What kind of skin disease is this and what kind of medicine can cure it? What should I do if my child has ringworm?

1 If the face has ringworm accompanied by slight white spots, white pityriasis, commonly known as peach blossom ringworm, manifested as slightly white skin and peeling, it is due to poor spleen and stomach function, resulting in decreased body resistance and superficial fungal infection of the skin;

2 Pityriasis alba is also called worm spots because in the past, children mostly had this because they had parasites in their intestines, which led to malnutrition, so it was called worm spots; but nowadays, most children have this due to malnutrition caused by picky eating; this type of disease generally does not require anthelmintics.

3. If you have ringworm on your face, you can apply terbinafine hydrochloride cream externally; it is generally sold in pharmacies; some people also recommend applying sulfur cream, which is also effective;

4. Note that this kind of white spots on the face will take a long time to heal. Generally, it takes a month or even longer to eliminate them. Many people do not see obvious effects even after applying the medicine for half a month. Be patient.

5 Pityriasis alba is a self-limiting disease. Even if you ignore it, it will get better on its own when the spleen and stomach function improves. However, it will recur. I had this disease when I was a child, and it recurred for nearly 10 years. It got better on its own after I became an adult. Later, it was analyzed that it was caused by eating fast and having a bad stomach.

6. Be careful not to apply general dermatological topical anti-tinea drugs; most general anti-tinea drugs contain hormones. If used on the face, although they will be temporarily effective, they will reduce the skin's resistance and make facial tinea grow more severely. In addition, hormones are also very harmful to the skin.

7 Note that this type of ringworm can also grow on the arms, abdomen, etc., which is not a big problem; its existence is a sign of decreased gastrointestinal function in the human body, so you must pay attention to your diet, such as eating regularly and eating less snacks.
