What is the reason for anemia in three-month-old babies?

Parents are the most anxious when their children become sick, but now babies up to three months old always suffer from anemia. At this time, many parents are confused as to why such a young child would suffer from anemia. On the one hand, understanding the causes of some diseases can better cure children's diseases, and it is also to solve the confusion of parents and help children recover their health in time. So, what is the reason for anemia in babies at three months?

1. Antepartum bleeding is mainly transplacental blood loss, including fetal-placental bleeding, fetal-maternal blood transfusion and inter-twin blood transfusion. Because the bleeding is hidden, the amount of bleeding varies, and the bleeding speed can be rapid or slow, the clinical manifestations are different.

2. Blood loss during delivery is mostly caused by obstetric accidents, placenta and umbilical cord malformations during delivery.

(1) Placental abnormalities: Severe blood loss often occurs in placenta previa, early placental abruption, or mis-cutting of the placenta during cesarean section. Multilobed placenta is the most common placental malformation. Each lobe sends a fragile venous branch to the placenta, which is prone to rupture and bleeding.

(2) Umbilical cord abnormalities: A normal umbilical cord may bleed suddenly due to excessive pulling. Umbilical cord malformations include umbilical cord hemangioma and aberrant vessels. The latter is that the umbilical cord branches out into one or more blood vessels before reaching its implantation site. The blood vessels have thin walls and lack the protection of the umbilical cord jelly-like tissue, making them very easy to rupture. The umbilical cord is implanted in the placenta in a velamentous manner, and the blood vessels also pass through the amnion and chorion without protection. The bleeding rate is 1% to 2%.

3. Postnatal blood loss Postnatal blood loss is mostly caused by umbilical, gastrointestinal and internal bleeding. In recent years, blood loss caused by diagnostic blood drawing in hospitals has also increased.

The diet of infants and young children should be properly balanced and complementary foods should be added on time. Avoid exclusive breastfeeding for a long time. Here are two recommended recipes:

A. Pork liver and lean meat porridge:

Applicable: Babies aged 8 months to 1 year old

Ingredients: fresh pork liver, lean pork, rice, appropriate amount of oil and a little salt.

Preparation method:

1. Wash and chop the pork liver and lean meat, add appropriate amount of oil and salt and mix well.

2. Wash the rice, put it in a pot, add appropriate amount of water, and cook until the porridge is almost cooked. Then add the mixed pork liver and lean meat, and cook until the meat is cooked.

B. Four-color pearl soup

Applicable: Babies aged 8 months to 1 year old

Ingredients: flour, lean pork, eggs, spinach, seaweed, appropriate amount of oil, chopped green onion and ginger, salt, and soy sauce.

Preparation method:

1. Put the flour into a bowl, use chopsticks dipped in water to mix it into the flour, add water and stir the flour evenly to make small lumps.

2. Chop the pork into minced meat; blanch the spinach in boiling water, drain the water, and cut into small pieces.

3. Add oil to a hot pan, add some chopped green onion and ginger, stir-fry the minced meat, then add a little soy sauce, add appropriate amount of water and bring to a boil. Add the small dough balls, stir evenly with a spoon and cook for a while. Then pour in the egg liquid, add spinach, seaweed and appropriate amount of salt, and cook for a while.

Many diseases are treated based on the cause, so what is the cause of anemia in the three-month-old baby mentioned above? It is still necessary for parents to understand it well, so as to fundamentally help their children treat diseases and restore their health. As long as the correct treatment is followed, the child will be healthy.
