Can babies take medicine for rashes?

Roseola infantum is a very common disease among babies, and most babies need to go through the rash stage. During the rash period, parents not only need to provide the best care for their babies in a timely manner, but also need to take their children to the hospital for treatment. There are many ways to treat baby rash, and drug treatment is one of them. Below, we will introduce you to the relevant knowledge about roseola infantum in detail!

1. What to do if infantile rash

1. Medication

Roseola infantum is mainly caused by internal conflict between wind-heat and heat toxicity. Currently, hospitals mostly use Motrin suspension, which is a liquid and is more suitable for children under 1-2 years old. In addition, you can also take Chinese patent medicines such as Shuanghuanglian oral liquid, Yinqiao Jiedu granules, and pediatric Qingrejiedu oral liquid appropriately.

2. Massage therapy

While using traditional Chinese medicine for treatment, massage therapy can be used on the child, which is also effective in treating various types of roseola infantum. It is painless and has no side effects, and is easy for children to accept. Parents can push down the Tianzhu bone (i.e. the cervical vertebra, the technique is to push from top to bottom), rub the Fengchi point and temples, and push the Sanguan and Liufu. It usually takes 2-3 minutes, and massage of one acupoint takes 3-5 minutes. Because the child's skin is tender and easily injured, a certain medium is needed during massage. If the child has a fever, plain water, mint water or talcum powder can be used.

2. Impact of Roseola Infantitis

1. The prognosis is good and the impact is not significant.

As long as the viral infection is cured, roseola infantum will naturally improve and the baby will not feel itching or pus. Roseola infantum recovers quickly, and the child will return to normal soon after the rash disappears, and no scars will be left.

2. After recovery, you can be immune for life.

Usually the child's high fever disappears after 3 days.

3. Nursing of infantile rash

1. When your baby has a fever, go to the hospital first and listen to what the doctor says. Do not give your baby any medicine casually.

2. When caring for your baby, pay attention to feeding him plenty of water and mainly liquid or semi-liquid food to replenish the water lost by the body due to high fever.

3. Give your baby appropriate supplements of vitamin B and vitamin C.

4. Try to avoid taking your baby to outdoor activities as much as possible, pay attention to isolation and avoid cross infection.

5. Keep your baby's skin clean and hygienic, and wipe off the sweat on your baby's body frequently to prevent him from catching a cold.

6. When the baby's body temperature exceeds 39°C, you can wipe the baby's body with warm water or 50% alcohol to prevent the baby from having convulsions due to high fever.

7. Let your baby rest more and ensure that he gets enough sleep.
