Three-month-old baby's nose is blue

If a three-month-old baby accidentally develops a blue nose, it is necessary to determine whether it is a collision injury. Bruising will also appear after a collision. At this time, hot compresses can be used to improve the condition. If necessary, X-ray examinations are still needed. This kind of damage to the nasal cavity is still very serious, which will have a great impact on the baby's future development, or even developmental deformities.

① For nasal soft tissue lacerations without tissue loss, suture should be prepared according to the normal anatomical position. If the tissue defect is not large and the wound is not infected, the wound should be closed immediately by flap rotation or free skin grafting.

② The tissue defect is too large, sometimes accompanied by defects in cartilage and bone tissue. During debridement and suturing, the cartilage needs to be placed in the perichondrium and then the skin is sutured. Exposure of the cartilage should be avoided. The bone wound surface should also be closed as much as possible, and any remaining deformities should be repaired later.

③ During debridement and suturing, special attention should be paid to the patency of the nasal cavity. The nostrils can be supported with a tube balloon of the same caliber as the nostrils and iodoform gauze to avoid nasal obstruction causing breathing difficulties and to prevent nostril scar contracture.

Disease name: Nasal injury Disease classification: Key points of oral treatment: 1. Debridement. If there is a nasal bone fracture, it should be treated at the same time as the soft tissue. 2. Do not cut off the broken nasal cartilage; place it in the perichondrium. 3. After the entire thickness of the severed nasal wing tissue is soaked and disinfected in antibiotic solution, it can be sutured in its entirety. 4. After the wound on the wing of the nose or columella is sutured, a rubber tube can be placed in the nostril for support and fixed with a gauze roll.

Treatment principles

1. Mild subcutaneous hematoma can be absorbed by itself.

2. If there is subcutaneous emphysema on the eyelid, you can apply pressure with a bandage and advise not to blow your nose.

3. In case of nasal bone fracture, an ENT consultation and treatment is required.

4. Severe orbital bone injuries are often accompanied by craniocerebral injuries, and neurological and systemic diseases should be treated first.

5. Prevent infection.

6. Patients with optic canal fractures, or compression of the optic nerve by bone fragments, edema, hematoma, etc. should undergo optic canal decompression and open surgery in a timely manner.

Medication principles

1. Patients with optic nerve damage should be treated as such.

2. For patients with complex injuries, consultation with neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery, and otolaryngology should be sought. Joint treatment.

If combined with orbital cellulitis and orbital abscess, large amounts of broad-spectrum antibiotics should be given intravenously.
