What can parents do to help their children with autism recover?

In recent years, the incidence of autism among children has been relatively high. Autism is a relatively serious psychological problem that has a great impact on children's growth and intellectual development. In addition, autism is difficult to treat and sometimes the treatment effect is poor, which becomes a big worry for parents. As parents, we must do more things that are conducive to our children's recovery in daily life. As the country pays more attention to autistic children, some special education concepts and institutions have gradually emerged, which undoubtedly has a good effect on promoting the improvement of autistic children's self-care ability and reintegrating into society.

First, the concept of special education should be updated.

Many education experts have pointed out that the education of special children should focus on survival skills. A person may have no relatives or friends, but he cannot be without friends and a group environment in which to work and live. Otherwise, he cannot gain a foothold in society. Therefore, our children must first have basic self-care abilities, social behavior norms, and social interaction abilities, and only then can they move on to learning cultural knowledge and mastering labor skills.

Second, we should give children what they want most.

The emotions of our special children are inherently unstable. As parents, we should not force our children to study or do things according to our own wishes. We should create a relaxed and pleasant learning environment for them, and guide them correctly based on their interests, so that they can make progress.

Third, let children learn to love their parents and others.

Because our children are the weaker ones, they receive a lot of care, and very little is required of them. For example, at home, the most delicious dishes are given to children, and the biggest apples are for children. Little do we know that in the long run, our children will become unyielding, self-centered, fickle and selfish. Just imagine, how can a person who doesn't even love his parents love others, how can he pay attention to and care about those in need? How can he continue to get the care and help of others? Psychological experts say: stories like "Kong Rong Giving Away Pears" that promote Chinese virtues will never go out of date.

Fourth, parents should regulate their emotions.

Because children take up too much of our time and energy. Because of having such a child, we no longer have a social circle, we have fewer friends, and our interests and hobbies have changed. Especially for parents who quit their jobs to educate their children at home, all they see are their children. If we stay in this highly tense and depressed state for a long time, our body will surely be damaged and our psychology will be distorted. How can we take care of our children without a good body? Some parents once said helplessly that we cannot get sick, let alone die, because our children need us. In order to improve our quality of life and make life more wonderful, parents in some places often hold gatherings for mothers only. For example, by taking a day off to entrust the children to other family members, the mothers can go shopping, drink tea, exercise, or travel to the suburbs to relax and put aside their worries. In this way, they have made proper adjustments and can raise their children with greater enthusiasm and more energy.
