Can children's astigmatism and myopia be cured?

If children have astigmatism and myopia, they can be treated and nursed back to health. There is generally no way to completely cure them through medication or other methods. Of course, you can wait until the child reaches the age of 18 and undergo surgical correction, which can have a very good therapeutic effect. For children, it is important to develop good habits of eye care in daily life.

1. Children only need to wear glasses when studying

Many people have this question: "Is it okay for children to wear glasses only when studying?" If the vision of both eyes is above 0.7, it will not cause too much inconvenience to study and work, and they do not need to wear glasses when using the eyes at close range. People with visual acuity below 0.7 or myopia above 300 degrees will feel uncomfortable when seeing both near and far, and will need to wear glasses frequently. If the vision of the left and right eyes is very different, it will cause imbalance between the two eyes and easily lead to visual fatigue. Therefore, people with myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism who have a serious difference in refractive power between the two eyes should wear appropriate glasses regularly.

2. Watching TV every day won’t damage your eyes

Only a small number of children who are not prone to myopia will not become myopic no matter how much they watch TV. The vast majority of people have a physical constitution that makes them susceptible to myopia. If you watch TV all day long and don't give your eyes any rest, there is a high possibility that you will become nearsighted. Therefore, in order to avoid myopia, you must take care of your eyes, rest, and use your eyes properly.

3. Myopia will not turn into presbyopia

The idea that “myopia will not turn into presbyopia” is incorrect. When looking at close objects, the human eye needs to focus. Presbyopia means that the ability to focus at close range cannot be performed well. Myopia can also turn into presbyopia, which means it is difficult to see close up when wearing glasses, which manifests as presbyopia. People used to think that myopia meant being able to see nearby objects clearly without glasses. The idea that "if you suffer from myopia, you will not suffer from presbyopia" is of course wrong.
