What are the symptoms of mycoplasma infection in children

Mycoplasma is extremely harmful to human health, especially for children. It often causes a variety of symptoms, such as physical discomfort, loss of appetite, fever, pneumonia, coughing and other hazards. In addition, if the treatment is not timely or improper, it will also pose a great threat to the patient's liver function, kidney function, and heart function.

1. General discomfort and loss of appetite

Mycoplasma pneumoniae does not cause symptoms immediately after entering the baby's body, but will cause symptoms after lurking for about 2 to 3 weeks. The baby's main symptoms include general discomfort, loss of appetite, etc.

2. Headache and chills

Later, as the disease progresses, it is accompanied by symptoms such as headache, chills and fatigue.

3. Fever:

Most are around 39℃. It may be continuous or remittent, or there may be only a low-grade fever or even no fever.

4. Cough:

Most of the coughs are severe. The initial cough is dry, followed by the secretion of sputum (occasionally containing a small amount of blood), and sometimes the coughing fits are somewhat similar to whooping cough. In the early stage, the baby's cough is dry and with little sputum. Later, it gradually turns into a stubborn and severe cough accompanied by a small amount of mucous sputum, especially at night, which is very severe and a bit like whooping cough. Infants and young children show wheezing and difficulty breathing.

5. Organ lesions

Some children do not have obvious cough, but mainly have high fever, chills and sore throat. Mycoplasma pneumoniae can also cause lesions in other systems and organs, such as measles-like rash, myalgia, migratory joint pain, liver function damage, hemolytic anemia, meningoencephalitis, myocarditis, pericarditis, nephritis, etc.
