Usually, people are prone to nasal congestion after catching a cold. For most adults, the problem can be solved by taking medicine and sleeping. However, this is not allowed for children. If you want to relieve nasal congestion quickly without giving your child medicine, you can use some tricks to solve it. In fact, it can be solved with some folk remedies, such as diet therapy, massage, and fumigation, which are all very simple.

Methods/Steps

Decoction and fumigation method: chop a small handful of scallions or three or four shallots into pieces and boil them into a soup. Inhale the hot steam through your nose, or boil vinegar and inhale the vinegar vapor. Both methods have better therapeutic effects.

Filling method: Mash the scallion whites and extract its juice to soak into cotton wool, then stuff the cotton wool into the nostrils. Alternatively, cut a garlic clove into a cylinder slightly smaller than the nostrils, wrap it with a thin layer of cotton or gauze and stuff it into the nostrils. This also has a good effect.

Side-lying massage method: If you have a blocked nose on the left side, lie on your right side; if you have a blocked nose on the right side, lie on your left side. Use two fingers to pinch your nose and massage the Yingxiang points on both sides for 1 to 2 minutes. The blocked nose can be removed.

Hot compress method: Apply a hot towel to the nose, or use a hair dryer to blow hot air into the nostrils, blowing on both sides of the temples, Fengchi acupoints, and Dazhui acupoints, and nasal congestion can be relieved.

Position change method: This method is suitable for babies. When a baby has a stuffy nose, he often cries non-stop. At this time, the baby can be held upright and he will soon fall asleep peacefully.
