What are the symptoms of sepsis in children?

Sepsis is mainly caused by some pathogens invading the human body's blood circulation. The large-scale reproduction of pathogens in the body can easily cause excessive accumulation of toxins and even cause systemic infection. It is more common in children. So what are the symptoms of sepsis in children?

First of all, in the early stages of sepsis, the most important symptom is that the baby will be afraid of cold and have a fever. If the baby is younger, he may not have a fever. If it is serious, the face will become pale or gray and the person will become unconscious. The extremities are cold, breathing is rapid, heart rate is increased, blood pressure is decreased, and jaundice may also occur.

When babies are suffering from sepsis in the early stages, some injuries will appear on their skin. Generally, petechiae, ecchymoses, scarlet fever-like rashes, and urticaria-like rashes are common. The rash is common on the skin of the limbs, trunk, or oral mucosa. If parents find spots on their children, they should take it seriously.

When babies suffer from early sepsis, they will also show more severe gastrointestinal symptoms, often vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and even vomiting blood and bloody stools; in severe cases, toxic intestinal paralysis or dehydration and acidosis may occur. In addition, the baby's joints may also become swollen.

When a baby suffers from sepsis in the early stages, the most obvious symptom is that the baby's body temperature will rise, breathing difficulties will occur, and spots will appear on the skin. If the condition is serious, gastrointestinal nausea and vomiting will also occur. At this time, the baby will show no desire to drink milk.
