What to do if your baby has keratitis

The cornea is a very important part of the human eye. Once there is a problem with it, it may cause blindness. Keratitis is a common disease in infants' eyes. Therefore, once an infant suffers from keratitis, it needs to be taken seriously. So, what should be done with infant keratitis?

When a child is young and has eye discomfort, he will refuse others to touch his eyes. However, if he has an eye disease, he must take medication, otherwise delay will affect his vision.

First, you need to go to a large hospital to see an ophthalmologist for treatment. The hospital has special medicine for washing eyes, and then you can take some eye drops home for local treatment. The effects of taking medicine or injections are slow, while local symptomatic medications are more effective and cure faster.

The method of medication is:

After the child falls asleep, apply the medicine prescribed by the doctor or chloramphenicol eye ointment on the eyes and eyelids (between the upper and lower eyelids). Or you can use chloramphenicol eye drops to soak cotton and apply it on the eyes. If the cotton is dry, you can add eye drops to keep the cotton moist. Let the eye drops seep into the eyes through the eye slits to play an anti-inflammatory role. Use medication for both eyes to protect the good eye from infection. Keep your hands clean!

In addition, you can go to the hospital to see a Chinese medicine doctor and use Chinese medicine to relieve eye heat. After each dose of Chinese medicine, boil it with one and a half bowls of water until it becomes half a bowl of water. Pour it out and wait until it is slightly warm again. After the child has taken a bath, use cotton to dip in the Chinese medicine water to gently wipe the child's eyes (three times a day). Hold the child lying on your lap, support the child's head with one hand, wash the good eye first and then the sick eye, be gentle, and apply cotton dipped in Chinese medicine to the sick eye once, then dip it in Chinese medicine again, until the Chinese medicine water is used up. If it is cold, you can warm it up appropriately, just warm it up, don't burn the child. The child's eye disease has been going on for a long time, so it is recommended:

1. Have you considered going to a professor in a large hospital for treatment? If the eye drops have no obvious effect after five days, you should change the medicine in time.

2. Have you considered Chinese medicine? If it is difficult to give, you can go to the pharmacy to buy some wintersweet flowers and boil them first and then boil them to wash your eyes. Ask the pharmacy for the amount to take, and you can add more for washing.

3. Chloramphenicol eye ointments and eye drops are only effective at the beginning of the disease when the condition is mild.

As mentioned above, after an infant suffers from keratitis, in order to prevent the inflammation from becoming infected and worsening the condition and affecting vision, drug treatment is necessary. However, when using drugs to treat infant keratitis, parents must also be careful and pay attention to the method of using the drugs to prevent injuring the child's eyes.
