Many people have never heard of the disease term pigeon chest. In fact, the reason why this disease is hidden is that it occurs in children. Many people have pigeon chest, and it is hidden. Because the chest contour is complete, but it is protruding, it looks different from the normal chest and looks very inconsistent. There are many factors that cause pigeon chest, all of which are caused by some adverse factors. 1. Causes of disease What causes chicken breast? The principle of pectus carinatum deformity is not yet clear. It may be related to heredity or repeated chronic respiratory infections. Pectus carinatum deformity is generally believed to be related to heredity like pectus excavatum deformity. Most people believe that it is caused by excessive growth of ribs and costal cartilages. The deformity of the sternum is secondary to the rib deformity. Some people believe that it is related to the abnormal development of the diaphragm attachment. The anterior part of the diaphragm is underdeveloped. It is not attached to the xiphoid process and the costal arch, but to the back of the rectus sheath. During deep exhalation, the upper part of the rectus abdominis is pulled inward, and the overgrown lateral muscles of the diaphragm contract, deepening the Howe's groove, and the lower part of the sternum moves forward due to the lack of diaphragm support, resulting in pectus carinatum deformity. Another part of people believe that pectus carinatum deformity is related to repeated chronic respiratory infections. Long-term chronic respiratory infections reduce the compliance of lung tissue and weaken respiratory function. In order to meet the needs of breathing, the diaphragm movement is strengthened, pulling the Howe's groove inward, and gradually forming pectus carinatum deformity. 2. Pathogenesis Due to genetic factors, the ribs develop too long, squeezing the sternum to bulge outward to form pigeon chest. Because the diaphragm is attached to the lower inner wall of the thorax, if the front part of the diaphragm is underdeveloped and is not attached to the xiphoid process and the costal arch, it is attached to the dorsal side of the rectus abdominis sheath. Deep inhalation pulls the upper part of the rectus abdominis inward, and the overgrown muscles on the outer side of the diaphragm contract, deepening the Howe groove, and the lower part of the sternum moves forward due to the lack of diaphragm support, resulting in pigeon chest deformity. Another possible reason is that long-term chronic respiratory tract infection reduces the compliance of lung tissue and weakens respiratory function. In order to meet respiratory needs, the diaphragm movement is strengthened, pulling the Hearsh groove inward and gradually forming a pigeon chest deformity. It is worth noting that newborn babies should be breastfed as much as possible, because vitamin D and other nutrients in breast milk are easy to absorb. When a 4-month-old baby starts to add complementary foods, do not focus on cereal foods, otherwise it will affect the absorption of calcium salts in the diet. Gradually add foods rich in vitamin D such as eggs and liver. Your baby's nutritional intake may be a factor in the disease. |
