The relationship between children's "three measurements" and physical health

Of course, parents don’t want their children to get sick, so as soon as they see their children are sick, they will rush to get treatment. However, some children are sick but have no obvious symptoms, so it is easy to delay the best time for treatment. In fact, sometimes you can judge what kind of disease a child will have by the child's three measurements, and what is the relationship between the child's "three measurements" and their physical health.

According to experts, the condition of a child's illness can be judged by the circumference of the head, chest and abdomen. Therefore, as long as parents understand the relationship between children's "three measurements" and their physical health, they can clearly determine what disease the child has, so that timely treatment can be provided.

1) Head circumference: A head circumference that is too large or too small may indicate disease. If the head circumference is 2 standard deviations smaller than that of babies of the same age and gender, and the baby's ability to lift his head, sit, walk, and speak are not as good as those of babies of the same age, it means that his brain development may be delayed. At this time, you should go to the hospital to have your baby's developmental assessment and intelligence testing. In addition, head circumference needs to be measured regularly. If the baby's head circumference suddenly grows faster during the normal growth period, it is also necessary to suspect whether it is caused by disease. Especially if the child shows symptoms such as irritability, crying, vomiting, headache, convulsion, squinting or inability to look up, you must be more vigilant to prevent the child from suffering from diseases such as hydrocephalus and brain tumors.

2) Chest circumference : If you find that your child’s chest has obvious depression or bulge, you should ask a doctor to check as soon as possible. Some diseases can cause chest deformities. For example, rickets can cause pigeon chest or funnel shape, and some serious congenital heart diseases can cause the left sternum to bulge.

3) Abdominal circumference: Significant chronic abdominal distension may be caused by rickets, tuberculous peritonitis, megacolon, etc. Significant abdominal sinking may be caused by weight loss and dehydration.

Through the experts' introduction to the relationship between children's "three measurements" and their physical health, parents can learn about children's diseases from the above knowledge. Therefore, when a child's three measurements show the above conditions, they must go to the hospital for treatment in time. Only in this way can the harm caused by the disease to children be eliminated.
