How to do early intervention for premature babies

Early intervention for premature infants is very important. It can promote the gradual healthy development of the child's systems. Therefore, parenting experts should conduct a comprehensive assessment, develop better plans, and promote the implementation of these plans to promote the child's good growth. Early intervention is a purposeful educational activity. When a child deviates from normal, timely tracking and intervention should be carried out.

What exactly is early intervention?

Early intervention refers to an organized, purposeful educational activity with an enriched environment, which is used for children under the age of 5-6 whose development deviates from normal or may deviate from normal. Through this measure, it is hoped that the physical, motor, intellectual, language and behavior of these children will be improved or catch up with the development of normal children.

Early intervention for premature infants is a therapeutic method whose primary purpose is to promote the development of various energy areas of premature infants and avoid their developmental risks.

It should be noted that "early" also has two levels: one is to allow premature infants to receive early intervention at an early age (before 0-2 years old) as possible, because the brain development of infants and young children between 0-2 years old is the fastest and the compensatory ability of brain cells is the strongest, so early intervention at this stage is most effective. The second is to conduct early intervention before any abnormalities are found in the child.

In fact, early intervention is also a preventive medical method, which aims to minimize the developmental risks of children and prevent them from happening. Just like why infants and young children need to be vaccinated, it is mainly to prevent diseases that may occur in children in the future.

What are the main contents of early intervention for premature infants?

1. Sports training:

It is a treatment method that improves local or overall function and physical fitness in an active or passive way based on the characteristics of the disease, the patient's clinical manifestations and functional conditions with the help of therapeutic equipment, manual manipulation and the patient's own participation. This training is mainly aimed at premature babies aged 0-3 years old with motor delay and abnormal muscle tone.

2. Fine motor training:

Operative training for upper limb dysfunction caused by abnormal upper limb muscle tension and simple hand function retardation. This training is mainly aimed at premature babies aged 0-3 years old with fine motor deficiencies.

3. Sensory training:

By stimulating children's senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch, we promote the harmonious and effective functioning of the body and improve children's communication and learning abilities. This training is aimed at premature babies aged 0-12 years old.

4. Intellectual training:

Comprehensive training for children with delayed intellectual development, including attention, cognition, language, and manual operation ability training. This training is mainly aimed at premature babies aged 6 months to 3 years.

5. Group functional classes:

Promote various energy areas of premature babies through physical movement, fine motor skills, language, cognition, social interaction skills and parent-child relationships. This course is mainly for premature babies aged 6 months to 6 years.
