What to do if a child falls and injures his head

Babies' mischief and ignorance are signs of their age, and many mothers are very worried about this. Talking to children and asking them to be obedient is obviously a dead end. After being beaten and scolded, the baby may continue to make trouble. It would be fine if they just rummaged through drawers and boxes, but what if many babies get themselves dirty or even get head injuries?

What to do if a child falls and injures the head? Mild head injuries may cause scalp abrasions, while slightly more serious ones may cause scalp lacerations and scalp hematomas. For scalp abrasions, just disinfect the wound, apply some mercurochrome, and bandage the area. Scalp lacerations must be cleaned and sutured in the hospital. This can not only avoid infection but also make the wound heal quickly, but tetanus antitoxin must be injected. Because the scalp is rich in blood vessels, hematomas are easily formed when blood vessels under the scalp rupture. Generally, they are allowed to absorb naturally without treatment, and puncture is not allowed.

Severe head injuries can cause skull fractures, brain contusions and intracranial hemorrhage. Skull fractures sometimes only manifest as scalp hematoma, and the diagnosis is only confirmed after X-rays. Epidural hematoma often occurs after a head fall. There are no symptoms at the time, but due to the slow bleeding rate, symptoms may appear after 1 to 2 days. Therefore, if you encounter this kind of situation, you must observe for 72 hours. If symptoms such as headache, vomiting, convulsions, and unconsciousness occur within 72 hours, the child must be sent to the hospital for emergency treatment as soon as possible, otherwise the child's life may be in danger. Mild brain contusion may only cause headache, but severe cases may cause cerebral edema, severe headache, and vomiting.

What to do if a child falls and injures the head? In order to prevent these situations, mothers must take some measures. If you can put some blankets in front of the window, the baby will not hurt his head when falling from the bed. Also, pay attention to objects with sharp edges. It is best to wrap them up to prevent the child's head from hitting them. It is the nature of babies to be naughty, and mothers can also adjust it from other aspects.
