What are the causes of children's heavy breath?

If a child has bad breath, parents should be alert. There are many reasons for bad breath, which may be related to gastrointestinal indigestion and some diseases. For example, if a child has food-related bad breath, it is mostly related to the growth of oral bacteria. Parents should educate their children to brush their teeth more often and pay attention to oral hygiene. If there is purulent bad breath, you should pay attention to it, as it may be caused by rhinitis, sinusitis, or bronchial dilatation.

1. Food-related bad breath:

Food-related bad breath often occurs after eating onions, garlic, leeks, fish, shrimp, lamb, etc. However, if you stop eating these foods, the bad breath will disappear naturally in 1 to 2 days. If you chew tea leaves or dates in your mouth for some time, bad breath will be reduced.

2. Corrupt halitosis:

It is mostly caused by poor oral hygiene, such as not brushing your teeth in the morning and evening, not rinsing your mouth after meals, and the dental plaque accumulated on the gum line and the food residues embedded in the teeth or in the cavities, which ferment and decompose and give off a foul odor. To eliminate this bad breath, you need to pay attention to oral hygiene. If you have cavities, go to the hospital for treatment in time.

3. Bad breath:

Commonly known as acidic bad breath, it is more common in children. It is a type of indigestion caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction, and this odor is often smelled when belching. After treatment, gastrointestinal function is restored and bad breath disappears.

4. Bad breath with rotten fruit smell :

It occurs in patients with diabetes and has an acetone or rotten apple odor. After diabetes is cured, this bad breath disappears.

5. Purulent halitosis:

Ulcers, erosions, and suppuration may form at the lesions of diseases such as foreign bodies in the nasal cavity of children, atrophic rhinitis, sinusitis, purulent tonsillitis, lung abscess, and bronchiectasis, which may cause bad breath. After the lesions are eliminated. Bad breath also disappears.
