Be careful of these problems when having febrile convulsions in children!

Fever is normal. Fever in young children may cause convulsions in severe cases. Generally, many children will have a high fever at the beginning. Parents should control their children's body temperature, otherwise it is easy to cause febrile convulsions and convulsions. Children with febrile convulsions are usually young and have a family history of genetic diseases. These reasons need to be diagnosed and treated and prevented accordingly.

Risk factors for recurrence include:

(1) Young age of onset;

(2) Relatives have a history of febrile convulsions or epilepsy;

(3) The first attack shows symptoms of complex febrile seizure.

Repeated convulsions in children can cause great damage to their brains, so we must avoid repeated convulsions that may cause brain damage and intellectual disabilities.

(1) Try to avoid fever factors. Carry out more outdoor activities in daily life to help children gradually adapt to the changes in temperature in the external environment. But you should also pay attention to changes in temperature and add or remove clothes in time to prevent colds.

(2) Pay attention to a reasonable diet to enhance children’s physical fitness.

(3) Once a fever occurs, the body temperature should be controlled below 38°C as quickly as possible. First, you need to take antipyretic drugs. There are many types of antipyretic drugs available now. Here I recommend phenobarbital. The ingredients of this drug are aspirin and phenobarbital. The former can reduce fever, and the latter can calm and relieve spasms. Immediately give physical cooling, use 25% to 50% alcohol wipe bath. Be careful when using alcohol wipe bath. It is forbidden to wipe the back of the neck, chest, feet, neck side, armpits, groin and other places with large blood vessels. Medical cooling is slower in effect than physical cooling.

(4) Children diagnosed with the complex type must take medication regularly and on time for a long time. They can take 3 to 5 mg/kg/day of luminal orally. The medication period should be 3 years from the date of the last seizure.
