What should I do if my child has farsightedness?

Hyperopia is also a type of eye disease. Many people have misunderstandings about hyperopia, thinking that it is always better than myopia. This idea is not correct. Hyperopia can cause more serious damage to the eyes than myopia. Hyperopia makes it difficult to see nearby objects clearly. In order to see nearby objects clearly, one usually has to tighten the eye muscles, which makes it more likely to develop symptoms such as strabismus, cross-eyes, and amblyopia. Hyperopia should be treated and prevented as early as possible.

Preventing Hyperopia

Although there is no definite way to prevent hyperopia so far, the following methods are beneficial to the eyes of hyperopia patients.

(1) Eat foods rich in vitamin A and vitamin C.

(2) Wear sunglasses when working or walking outdoors to prevent excessive ultraviolet radiation from shining on your eyes.

(3) Drink enough water to prevent dry eyes.

(4) Protect your eyes when doing dangerous work, such as hitting metal objects, using corrosive chemicals, etc.

(5) Have regular eye examinations.
