What to do if children do not absorb food

Mealtime is an important stage for absorbing nutrients. However, many children are unable to absorb nutrients due to their physical constitution. What to do if children cannot absorb food? First of all, we should cultivate good eating habits for children. If children are picky eaters, they will definitely not be able to absorb food.

It is very important to cultivate good dietary habits for your baby. Only in this way can your baby fully absorb nutrition!

1. Avoid the formation of picky eating habits

During this period, babies tend to like to eat familiar meals and do not like to eat foods that are not often exposed to and are relatively unfamiliar. If this continues for a long time, it may cause children to become partial or picky eaters. Mothers should pay attention to diversifying food and changing it frequently to give children the opportunity to come into contact with a variety of foods and become familiar with their tastes, so as to avoid developing picky eating habits.

2. Don’t eat snacks casually

Constant snacking and lack of hunger will affect your appetite for regular meals. At the same time, the gastrointestinal tract is constantly working and does not get rest, which can easily cause gastrointestinal dysfunction, leading to indigestion and gastritis. Many snacks are high in sugar, salt, and fat, with a single nutrient content. Excessive intake can lead to obesity and nutrient deficiency. Therefore, parents should not prepare many snacks for their children so as to prevent them from developing the habit of eating whenever they want. Instead, we should ensure that children eat three meals a day at regular times and in regular amounts.

3. Chew slowly, don’t eat too fast

Chewing slowly can allow food to be fully ground in the mouth and mixed with saliva, which can stimulate the secretion of various digestive juices in the gastrointestinal tract, reduce the burden on the gastrointestinal tract and enable food to be better digested and absorbed. At the same time, chewing more is beneficial to the development of the skull and teeth, enhances the resistance of teeth, and prevents jaw deformities and tooth decay. The most important thing is to give the brain's satiety center enough time to tell you, "I'm full!" to avoid eating too much food.
