What to do if your child is picky about food and refuses to eat?

Being picky about eating is a behavioral habit, which has a lot to do with parental indulgence and the child’s usual diet. Many parents want to know what to do if their children are picky about eating and refuse to eat. If children are picky eaters and refuse to eat, it is necessary to control their eating times and cultivate good habits.

1. First of all, you need to fix the baby's eating time, feed him on time, and help him develop the habit of eating on time. Mom must be a little cruel. The baby was uncooperative at the beginning, but later he found that I no longer fed him after the time. Even if he cried, he could not eat. Gradually, he would eat his fill at mealtime.

2. Do not let your baby eat too much of something he likes. For example, before he eats an orange, we will hold up a finger and say to him, "Eat only one at a time. If you want more, you can eat it tomorrow. OK!" Then the baby will also hold up a finger and say, "Eat only one!"

3. Next, let the baby see other children eating their meals happily, so that he will want to eat too. Occasionally (not often, once every few days), set up some competitions to give the baby a sense of accomplishment. When the baby is almost done eating and is about to slack off, say to the baby: "Dad (or mom, or the whole family) will compete with you to see who finishes first." At this time, the baby will immediately concentrate on eating, and we adults will deliberately slow down to let the baby finish first. Every time this happens, the baby will happily say: "First place!" We will also give timely encouragement to the baby and say to the baby: "Baby is great!"

4. Don’t feed your baby too much food at one time to avoid psychological pressure on him. Do it step by step. If the baby doesn't want to eat it when he sees it, parents can demonstrate to the child how to eat it and show an expression that it tastes delicious. Of course, children are not so easy to fool, and it takes good cooking skills to lie.
