Baby falls to judge intracranial hemorrhage

It is common for babies who are just learning to walk to fall down. They will cry loudly immediately after falling down. Some babies only suffer external injuries and are fine, while others may suffer from concussion or intracranial hemorrhage. If it occurs, it will occur quickly and symptoms such as repeated vomiting, excessive sleep, poor spirits or severe crying will occur. Within two days after the fall, bleeding or watering of the nose or ears, and uneven pupils will occur. If this happens, you need to go to the hospital for treatment immediately.

If a baby starts crying immediately after falling on his head, the possibility of brain injury is generally low. If a baby falls and hits his head, causing severe concussion or intracranial hemorrhage, the symptoms will occur quickly, at the latest within 24 hours. Therefore, the baby should be observed for two days after falling on his head, and try to let him rest more and move less. If you remain in good spirits and have a normal appetite within two days, you can rest assured. However, if you have the following symptoms, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible: 1) There is bleeding trauma on the head; 2) The baby does not cry after falling, and is not conscious enough, semi-comatose and drowsy;

3) Within two days after the fall, the child experiences repeated vomiting, excessive sleepiness, poor spirits, or severe crying; 4) Within two days after the fall, the child experiences bleeding or watering from the nose or ears, or uneven pupils.

Symptoms of intracranial hemorrhage in babies:

1. If there is intracranial hemorrhage, the baby's breathing will become very irregular, sometimes there will be convulsions, and in more serious cases, the child will faint. These are symptoms of intracranial hemorrhage in children. If you find it, you should take the child to the hospital for treatment in time.

2. It is mainly related to the bleeding site, amount of bleeding, gestational age and other perinatal factors. Premature infants and grade III and IV infants, chronic hypoxia, and massive brain hemorrhage have poor prognosis. Survivors will have different degrees of neurological sequelae.

3. Check where the child is bleeding and whether the amount of bleeding is particularly heavy. If the child's condition is not particularly serious, conservative treatment is a better choice. Some minor bleeding can be absorbed by themselves. In addition, children are not particularly easy to accept surgery now, so surgical treatment may not be particularly effective. It is recommended to observe first. If the child's condition is serious, it is best to have surgery.

It can also be confirmed that it is a concussion and there will be no intracranial hemorrhage. If there is intracranial hemorrhage, it is not a concussion. If no bleeding is found in the initial CT scan and the patient is diagnosed with concussion, and the bleeding gradually increases, there are generally the following symptoms: persistent headache, pain in the back of the neck when lowering the head, slurred speech, gradual deterioration of facial, tongue, and limb movements, gradual deterioration of sensation in a certain part of the body, and repeated muscle cramps in a certain part of the body. There may be one or more of the above symptoms, or there may be no symptoms at all, just a headache. Generally speaking, if there is bleeding after a concussion, it will occur within 48 hours. After 48 hours, there is little chance of further bleeding.

Direct trauma mainly refers to skin and muscle injuries, joint and bone injuries, brain tissue damage, etc. Psychological damage mainly refers to the baby being frightened during the fall, which causes symptoms such as emotional irritation, fear, and sleep disorders.
