Children's cough is very difficult to cure. If a child's cough is not treated in time, it will cause pneumonia, tracheal infection and other diseases. If a child suffers from pneumonia, it will be very troublesome because pneumonia is a very serious disease. If it is not treated in time, there will be a risk of illness. Therefore, we must pay attention to children's cough. Massage is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine that can treat diseases through acupoints. So how does massage treat children's cough? Children's massage is equivalent to acupuncture for adults. If massage is done correctly, it can have an anti-inflammatory effect. Many facts have proved that although anti-inflammatory drugs are effective in treating baby's cough, their most direct side effects include diarrhea, loss of appetite, etc., which directly damage the baby's spleen and stomach function. When using children's massage to treat the baby's cough, the baby's appetite not only did not decrease, but became very good. From the dialectical perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the treatment of cough can be roughly divided into "initial cough in the lungs, mid-term cough in the spleen, and long-term cough in the kidneys." This is a general guideline for treating children's cough. Generally, when you have a cough due to a cold, it is recommended that you massage the spine 5-10 times, and then push the shoulder blades 200-300 times. Massage the Feishu point for 3-5 minutes, then rub the Feishu point horizontally until it becomes warm. You can massage the Tanzhong point from the front for 1-2 minutes, and then push the Tanzhong point from the back. The hand operations are to clear the lung meridian and nourish the spleen meridian 200-300 times each. In the middle stage of a cold, when you cough and have phlegm (sometimes the cough and phlegm sound appear very quickly), Chinese medicine believes that spleen deficiency produces phlegm, so the spleen is the organ that produces phlegm, and the lungs are the organ that stores phlegm. Therefore, when we hear coughing with phlegm in the lungs, we should think that it is not only a problem with the lung system, but also a problem with the spleen system. Therefore, in addition to massaging the acupoints I mentioned above, we should also exercise the Nei Bagua 300 times, rub the small horizontal lines on the palms 300 times, and rub the Zhongwan acupoint for 2 minutes. Fenglong point for 1 minute. If the baby coughs continuously for a long time, according to the principle of treatment, Chinese medicine believes that long-term cough is caused by lung deficiency, spleen deficiency, and kidney deficiency, and also means that the kidneys cannot absorb air, so the cough will not stop. In terms of treatment methods, I would recommend that you nourish the lung meridian, spleen meridian, and kidney meridian 200-300 times each, rub the Tanzhong point for 1-2 minutes, rub the Guanyuan point 300 times, push the shoulder blades 200 times, pinch the spine 5-10 times, three pinches and one lift 2-5 times, press the Shenshu point 50 times, and press and rub the Zusanli point for 1 minute. You can see the acupoint map in the pictures and texts in the previous post. Also, coughing may not be an isolated symptom, so the massage plan needs to be adjusted based on the baby's problem. Let me summarize the principles and directions of tonification and drainage of the acupoints on the hands: According to the baby's special physiological and pathological characteristics, there are some specific rules in the clinical operation of the heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney meridians: the heart and liver meridians should be cleared rather than tonified; the spleen and kidney meridians should be tonified rather than cleared; and the lung meridian can be both tonified and cleared. When a child's meridians are gathered in his two palms, it mainly means that the meridians of the heart, liver, spleen, lungs and kidneys are all gathered in the baby's two hands. As the baby gets older, when he is 8 or 9 years old, these acupoints on his hands will become relatively less sensitive. In addition, the child's internal organs and meridians will develop more fully and begin to approach those of adults. They will no longer be limited to the two palms. The operation of the techniques varies from school to school, which confuses many parents who want to learn from them. What I am introducing to you here is what I learned in college, which is also the operating techniques of doctors in hospitals (however, it seems that the operating techniques of doctors in some hospitals in Shanghai are not exactly the same). Anyway, regardless of the different schools, I have actually used and experienced the techniques I share with you, and they are very good, safe and effective. If you don’t believe in the distinction between masters and disciples, just use the same techniques as me. The five meridians of heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney are located on the surfaces of the five fingers (or the pads of the fingers): rotating and pushing is for tonification (rotating and pushing on the finger surfaces in the direction of the pointer, not rubbing), and straight pushing is for clearing (pushing from the fingertips to the base of the fingers). Usually, the heart and liver meridians are treated with the straight pushing method - the clearing method; the spleen and kidney meridians are generally treated with the rotary pushing method - the tonifying method. The lung meridian can be tonified or cleared depending on the situation. The large intestine, small intestine, and stomach meridians are located on the sides of the index finger, little finger, and thumb respectively: pushing from the fingertip to the base is tonifying, and pushing from the base to the fingertip is clearing. This acupoint can strengthen the spleen and stomach, relieve food stagnation, regulate qi and resolve phlegm. Generally applicable diseases: indigestion, spleen and stomach disharmony, food accumulation, etc. In addition, this technique will also be used for cough with phlegm, tracheitis, and bronchitis. The operation is actually very simple. It is to push and move the inner Bagua on the palm in a clockwise direction (making circles). Generally speaking, the movement of the inner Bagua defaults to the clockwise direction. Reverse operation of the inner Bagua: refers to operating the inner Bagua in a counterclockwise direction. Its function is to relieve adverse symptoms and asthma, and it is generally used for wheezing and asthma. The heart and liver should be cleansed regularly but not replenished. If replenishment is needed, other meridians can be used instead. Qing method: Push the heart meridian from the middle finger to the base of the finger, and push the liver meridian from the tip of the index finger to the base of the finger. The spleen meridian and kidney meridian are often not replenished, and if necessary, other meridians will usually be used instead. Method of tonification: For the spleen meridian, rotate the thumb clockwise; for the kidney meridian, rotate the little finger clockwise. The lung meridian can be cleared or supplemented. To clear it, push the tip of your ring finger toward the base of your finger. To supplement it, rotate your ring finger clockwise. |
