What are the symptoms of convulsions?

Common symptoms of convulsions include foaming at the mouth, clenched teeth, and cyanosis of the face. The most typical symptom is convulsions. Children are especially susceptible to these problems, so parents should pay attention to finding out the cause.

1 Generally, when a convulsion occurs, the child's eyes will droop, stare or squint, and he will foam at the mouth, clench his teeth, and have a cyanotic face. Some children may also experience incontinence. The duration of the seizure can range from a few seconds to a few minutes, and the child will fall asleep after the convulsion stops.

2 When children show symptoms of convulsions, parents must not panic, slap or shake the child, or hug the child tightly. Lay the child flat and tilt the child's head to one side to allow the secretions in the child's mouth to flow out. Keep the child's airway open and let him breathe fresh air to prevent suffocation.

3 After the secretions in the child's mouth are discharged, send the child to the hospital as soon as possible, find out the cause of the convulsions, and give appropriate treatment in time. The most common factor causing this symptom is high fever, so in daily life, certain preventive measures should also be taken for children.

Note:

The symptoms of convulsions can make parents very worried and scared, so once such symptoms appear, parents must not hold the child tightly in their arms. Instead, they should lay the child flat on the bed to allow the secretions in the child's mouth to be discharged, and let the child breathe fresh air to prevent suffocation.
