What are the symptoms of hepatitis A in children?

Hepatitis A is a disease that can be transmitted to anyone, including children. If a child is infected with hepatitis A, there will be obvious symptoms, and parents will definitely discover them as long as they observe carefully. Poor spirit, decreased appetite, yellow skin, etc. are all symptoms of hepatitis A in children.

Symptoms of Hepatitis A in Children:

1. Mental deterioration

The child shows symptoms such as fatigue without activity, poor spirits, lack of playfulness, and drowsiness.

2. Loss of appetite

They are particularly averse to greasy food, and even don't want to eat the dishes they usually like. In severe cases, they may even feel nauseous and vomit.

3. Yellow eyes and skin

The child's eyes and skin turn yellow, which is an early sign of acute icteric hepatitis.

4. Abnormal urination and defecation

The color of your child's urine suddenly becomes very dark, like tea. Unformed stools, diarrhea, white stools, etc. indicate that there is bile stasis in the capillary bile ducts in the liver, which is one of the early symptoms of childhood hepatitis that cannot be ignored.

5. Unexplained rash

An allergy-like rash occurs in the absence of a history of allergies or contact with allergens, with itching symptoms and ineffective topical medications.

6. Unexplained fever and chills

The child suddenly develops cold-like symptoms such as chills and fever, which are also early signs of jaundice in acute icteric hepatitis. If not treated in time, after half a month, the eyes and skin all over the body will begin to turn yellow.
