Symptoms of vomiting, white foam, sputum and other adverse symptoms may indicate that this is a disease caused by allergic bronchitis. For diseases such as allergic bronchitis, the most fundamental treatment is to take some anti-allergic drugs. Of course, we still need to take preventive measures in our daily lives. Here are some tips on how to prevent allergic bronchitis! 1. Indoor environment Infants and young children have the closest relationship with the indoor environment. They have to stay indoors for a long time, and modern buildings are airtight (better closed doors and windows and lack of natural ventilation). New building materials and updates to indoor furniture (including carpets, mattresses, and cushioned furniture) will expose infants and young children to indoor allergens (especially house dust mites) and chemical irritants for a long time. Studies have shown that the increased prevalence of allergies in children is related to the degree of exposure to allergens, and this may also apply to adults. We should further evaluate whether improving the indoor environment can be used as a primary prevention strategy for selected infants at risk for allergic bronchitis. For those who are susceptible to asthma, especially young infants, reducing contact with house dust mites may be a very effective preventive measure, as house dust mites have been shown to be an important asthma trigger. 2. Smoking Smoking falls into the category of indoor environmental pollution. Pregnant women who smoke will increase the risk of their future children suffering from chronic bronchitis. For children, if two or one of their parents smokes, the risk of their children suffering from allergic bronchitis will also increase. This is more prominent in children with atopic constitution. The study also showed a positive correlation between the degree of exposure to cigarette smoke and the occurrence of asthma. Given the impact of smoking on asthma, a potential primary goal would be to reduce smoking among women, particularly during pregnancy and the perinatal period, which would reduce asthma prevalence. Studies in adults have found that total 1gE levels in active smokers are higher than those in passive smokers and non-smokers, suggesting that smoking can also increase the prevalence of asthma in adults. In some cases, particularly occupational asthma, smoking may make smokers more sensitive to environmental asthma-causing agents. Preventing passive smoking and prohibiting pregnant women from smoking will also become important parts of the primary prevention of asthma. 3. Outdoor Environment Outdoor conditions vary widely around the world, with visible pollution remaining high in some countries and declining in others, while invisible pollution (mostly from car exhaust) is increasing. Atmospheric nitric oxide levels have increased over the past decade. Although nitric oxide itself does not directly increase the prevalence of allergic bronchitis, its damage to the respiratory epithelium may make it easier for other antigens to enter the deep respiratory tract and the lungs. A study in different regions of Zimbabwe showed that although the prevalence of allergic bronchitis varies greatly between regions, it is still more common in cities. Similar studies have shown that with the urbanization of jungle areas and the transfer of city centers, the prevalence of asthma has also increased. Although this urbanization causes not only air pollution, but also changes in the indoor living environment, it is possible to increase the prevalence of asthma. |
