Symptoms of laryngitis in children, be alert after reading

If a child suffers from laryngitis, his throat will become itchy, dry, and his speaking voice will change. In severe cases, it will be painful when swallowing saliva. These are all obvious symptoms of pharyngitis, which reminds parents to pay attention.

1. The throat is often dry, burning, itchy, accompanied by hoarseness and pain when swallowing;

2. The child is like a normal person when quiet, and only experiences inspiratory stridor and inspiratory dyspnea after activity. Breath sounds are clear on auscultation and the heart rate is normal.

3. The pharyngeal reflex is sensitive, and it is easy to feel nauseous when brushing teeth, clearing throat or coughing in the morning. These symptoms can affect the patient's breathing, eating, sleeping and even mental state.

4: The patient turns from irritability to semi-coma or coma, with temporary quietness, gray complexion, and almost disappearance of the two types of respiratory sounds on auscultation, with only tracheal conduction sounds, weak heart sounds, and irregular or fast or slow heartbeat.

5. There is a foreign body sensation in the throat, with frequent "grunting" and "clicking" sounds, and you want to clear your throat, but you can't cough or swallow;

6. Paroxysmal irritability and restlessness occur, lips and nails are cyanotic, the area around the mouth becomes blue or pale, auscultation reveals weakened or inaudible breath sounds in both lungs, dull heart sounds, and a heart rate of 140-160 beats/minute.

7. Infection

This disease is often associated with colds, usually with viral invasion first, followed by bacterial infection. It is often secondary to rhinitis, pharyngitis, and upper respiratory tract infection. It can be a precursor disease to acute infectious diseases such as influenza, pneumonia, measles, chickenpox, whooping cough, scarlet fever, etc.

8. Decreased immunity

It is more common in children under 5 years old. Because children have low resistance, narrow laryngeal cavity, abundant submucosal lymphatic tissue and loose subglottic tissue, edema is easy to occur, causing airway obstruction and inducing the disease. If not diagnosed and treated in time, it can often be life-threatening.
