What causes swollen finger joints in children?

Possible symptoms of swollen finger joints in children include diseases such as arthritis, but if there is no pain or other sensations in the joints, there is no big problem, because swollen joints are also caused by finger development. As long as you massage them more often, the fingers will become thinner over time. Some people may have broken fingers or been injured, which can also cause swollen joints.

1. Osteoarthritis of the joints. This is also the cause of swollen and painful finger joints. The main manifestations of this condition are: swelling and bony growths in the joints - bone spurs. It often occurs at the end joints of the fingers, but can also occur in the joints between the fingers. Hyperplastic arthritis usually occurs in older people, often over 40 years old, first appearing in one or several fingers, and then affecting other fingers. The affected joints may become red, swollen and painful. Morning stiffness is common and can be severe but lasts only briefly, less than 20 minutes. X-ray examination showed bone hyperplasia.

2. Suppurative arthritis caused by bacterial infection, rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis caused by autoimmune or allergic reactions, gouty arthritis caused by metabolic disorders, and traumatic arthritis caused by trauma, etc.

3. Bone hyperplasia. This is the most common cause of swollen and painful finger joints. It is caused by tissue degeneration and cumulative strain. It is more common in obese and overweight middle-aged and elderly people. The most common sites of the disease are the knees, fingers, neck, and lumbar spine. The main symptoms are joint pain and stiffness (the pain will be relieved after slight activity). In severe cases, joint swelling and muscle atrophy may occur.

It is recommended that you go to the hospital to check your rheumatic factor to rule out the possibility of rheumatism. Pay attention to your diet and don't drink alcohol. You can also apply cold compress or topical ointment. Live a regular life, ensure adequate sleep, strengthen physical exercise, and take walks from time to time.
