Is it normal for a two-year-old baby to toss and turn during sleep?

The baby is the apple of the parents' eyes. Their every move since birth is under the parents' attention. A two-year-old baby has his own little emotions, communicates normally with his parents, begins to have his own personality and emotions, and begins to enter the first stage of his life, the rebellious period. Parents must carefully care for their babies and cultivate their good emotional intelligence, living habits, etc. Some parents will encounter a two-year-old baby tossing and turning at night and not sleeping well. Is this normal?

There are certain reasons why a two-year-old baby tosses and turns in his sleep at night, such as lack of trace elements. Low blood calcium causes increased excitability of the brain and autonomic nerves, resulting in the baby's restless sleep at night. Calcium and vitamin D need to be supplemented. If calcium is deficient, the baby's fontanelle will not close well; if zinc is deficient, the corners of the mouth will generally ulcerate. It may also be due to the weather or room temperature being too hot or too cold, dry nasal discharge and uncomfortable breathing, food accumulation, indigestion, the presence of pinworms outside the anus, etc.

Usually, you should make sure to calm your baby down 0.5 to 1 hour before he or she goes to sleep. Don't let your baby play too excitedly or tease him or her too much before going to bed. This prevents your baby from having difficulty falling asleep due to being too excited or nervous. No stimulating TV shows, no tense or scary stories, and no new toys. Create a good sleeping environment for your baby. The room temperature is suitable, quiet and the light is dim. The covering should be light, soft and dry. Let your baby urinate before going to bed. You can check trace elements and stool parasites based on your baby's own condition.

The baby's metabolism is relatively fast. Parents should make sure that the baby and the parents wear similar clothes and not deliberately make the baby wear more. They should also make sure that the baby drinks more water, especially in summer. When it comes to educating children in this period, parents should first regulate their own emotions and try to cultivate their children's stable emotions. If the baby is impatient, try to distract him with new things. Educate your baby using a combination of rewards and punishments.
