What should children pay attention to in their diet when their eyesight is declining?

In the eyes of many parents, the problem of decreased vision is more likely to occur in children after junior high school. However, more and more children are experiencing the same problem. If such a young child is like this, it will definitely make parents very worried, fearing that it will have a lasting impact on the child's future. It is best to adjust the diet, which will be very beneficial to the recovery of the child's vision. So, what should children pay attention to in their diet when their eyesight declines?

Don’t let your children eat too much sweets: excessive sweets can consume a large amount of alkaline substances and vitamin B1 in the body, which will cause vision loss in children and even cause poor visual development. Excess sugar can lead to a decrease in the body's storage of the trace element chromium. Chromium is mainly found in coarse grains. If parents do not pay attention to the nutritional balance of food and feed their children refined food for a long time, the children's bodies will lack chromium. Chromium deficiency can result in changes in blood osmotic pressure, which in turn leads to changes in the osmotic pressure of the eye lens and aqueous humor. When the osmotic pressure of the aqueous humor is lower than that of the lens, the aqueous humor will pass through the lens capsule into the lens, causing the lens to become convex, and the refractive power of the eye will increase, resulting in myopia.

Eating more solid food will improve your vision: vision is regulated by the lens, which is equivalent to the lens, according to the activity of the choroidal tissue. If the facial muscles are not fully developed, it will affect vision. As food tends to soften, children's jaws become less and less developed. Due to the lack of proper exercise for the teeth, the teeth are not aligned properly and the occlusion between the upper and lower teeth is not perfect. If you do not chew for a long time in your daily eating habits, the facial muscles will gradually weaken and the regulatory function of the lens will not work well. Therefore, encouraging children to eat some hard foods can strengthen their jaws.

Protein: Lack of protein can easily cause vision fatigue. Protein is the main component of cells. Children should consume enough protein, especially animal protein. Lean meat, poultry, animal offal, fish and shrimp, milk, eggs, beans, etc. contain protein.

Vitamin A: Foods containing vitamin A are also good for the eyes. When vitamin A is deficient, the eyes' ability to adapt to dark environments decreases, and in severe cases, it is easy to suffer from night blindness. Vitamin A can also prevent and treat dry eyes. The best sources of vitamin A are livers of various animals, cod liver oil, milk and eggs, plant foods such as carrots, amaranth, spinach, leeks, green peppers, sweet potatoes, and fruits such as oranges, apricots and persimmons.

Vitamin C: It is one of the components of the lens of the eye. If you lack vitamin C, you are prone to cataracts, which is a disease in which the lens becomes cloudy. Various fresh vegetables and fruits, especially green peppers, cucumbers, cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, fresh dates, raw pears, and oranges, have the highest vitamin C content.

When a child has decreased vision, many parents may not think about what they should pay attention to in their child's diet. In fact, picky eating is an important factor leading to children's vision loss. The child is still relatively young, and adjusting his diet will be very effective. It can also help the child develop good eye-loving habits to avoid worsening of the situation.
